Just got this bad-boy today, but I probably won't be setting up the gantry until I have proper room to display it.

Sorry for the late replies, I didn't get notifications for the responses.

Congrats... just waiting on mine...

Out of curiosity, when a “conversion” occurs, does sideshow automatically charge your credit card on file, or do you receive an invoice to pay?

They won't charge you until you order it. They give you the option to order it as you normally would from the product page.

when did you go on the waitlist?

The same day it went to waitlist. I don't remember what day that was.

Repaint WIP

These diecast figures are amazing but never cared for the high-gloss candy apple red finish.
Instead I'm going for a much more movie accurate look.

Will post more pics as I go :)

Wow! Do keep us posted, please.

Still WIP but almost done

Did a quick before/after too

Even though their candy red application is really neat, I always found it was much more of a comic look for Iron Man. Also looks more toyish and a lot less like an actual metallic suit.

Gold is a really tough color and HT always paints it way too pale. So I went for a much deeper gold.
This isn't 100% accurate to IM2 it's actually a bit of a mix between the MKIV red and the Avengers MKVI gold (golds is really dull in IM2)

Gold lines on the abs will be painted next and some mild weathering all over the suit

This looks awesome. Out of curiosity, what paints (color/brand) did you use? I'm feeling inspired to do something similar.

Finally got this figure. Looks awesome but having difficulty changing from the iron man helmet to the Tony Stark headsculpt. The biggest issue is that the neckpiece won't come off, even if it's tried sliding it forward while pulling.

Any tips? I really don't want to use tweezers as that would damage the paint.

Push with the finger on the back of the neck forward and it will come easy.

I got the regular all ready. I put the gantry on waitlist (the day it waitlisted) and thought better of it. A week or so later thought I really want it. Put it back on waitlist. I’m still waiting. I hope it converts. I figure if need be I can sell my regular one.
