I thought the exact same thing once I saw the burns. Perhaps they were trying to be realistic, or maybe throwing a homage to Mr. Nolan? Either way, that part was sad and unexpected (for me) as I didn't read the comics.

Yes I thought so too. An extended cut would flesh out the characters and story more I think. There were several scenes in the movie where they would cut away to the next set piece and it was almost awkward and forced. I'll definitely be looking for an extended/director's cut.

Re: Spartacus Blood and Sand Yeah, last night's episode was fantastic. I think we saw a major turning point for Crixus - he saw how easily forgotten and tossed aside a supposedly great gladiator can be. Oh, and it had the best last line of any episode yet - "I am myself again." Bamf.

Yeah, like I said too, the original definitely had a lot more of an engaging storyline/adventure, though I didn't care much for Andromeda in the remake, I did like the character of Io. But then again, being a teenage boy, I'll fall for any girl with a face like hers, bad lines and all =D
