@mrchris thanks for those links! Yeah I put in my order with Collectibles Direct once they got the listing up. Figured it's easier to pay the VAT over the course of the year than the surprise bill for £200 that would have come with the direct order from Chronicle.

Still twiddling my thumbs waiting for the UK distributor to list this one/find out their pricing. (Kinda annoying since that early bird $200 off RRP would probably have just about covered the inevitable import/shipping costs)

As predicted the response the UK retailer got from Sideshow was the standard, 'use a magic eraser' BS. (That may work well on polystone statues Sideshow...
