Hot Toys MMS429 - Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker

Had Jedi Luke in storage for a couple years. Finally it is time to bring him out.

    Statue New Sideshow Godzilla Statue

While this does look better than the maquette, I find the head looks way oversized, throwing off the overall proprtion quite a bit. Almost too 'bulldog' like with its big head.

However, the clothing is tailored with that body in mind, so swapping a different body won't get as good of a fit on the clothing, especially the upper body stuff. Pants on the other hand are baggy, so make not much difference. Its not an ideal body, especially on articulation. But the clothing...

Asmus Toys : Gandalf the Grey

I also agree that the beard looks very uniformed and repetitive in terms of how they are sculpted. Detailed, but a bit artificial and not very natural. But the face is very nice. Best head sculpt you guys have done by far. Hope the fine details and final paint job will be superb. Great start Asmus!

Body is not very good in articulation, but the proportion and costume fitment is good. So probably just keep it as is, and just live with the somewhat limited articulation. Here are some of the negatives: - Shoulders have no forward/backward movement, unlike a True Type. - Elbows can only bend...

    1/6 Hot Toys - MMS264 - X-Men: DOFP: Wolverine Collectible Figure

I think its all about the eyes not looking mean/up enough. So while it looks like Hugh Jackman as the accuracy is there, the normal looking straight eyes doesn't express the Wolverine we know from the movie, always have a very mean aggressive look. It works for 90% of other HT figures because...

Great reference pic for the length of the hair and how it should sits.

Yeah. No hair trimming for me either, even though my wife is very good with doll hair. Most of the curls are at the lower end of the hair strands. Cutting them means you are straightening the hair even more. If you don't know tricks to 'perm' it to bring back the little 's-curls', your figure...

1/6 Threezero - Breaking Bad - Heisenberg Collectible Figure

Bought the Dead Space 3 figure directly from ThreeZero. Figure shipped with the factory shipper brown box with no additional padding or room for any stuffing. Mind arrived safe & sound, but I can see some may get a banged up box if unlucky.

No problem. My wife has her own collection of girly dolls, and often style their rooted hair or rerooting them if need fixing. So Aragorn's is fairly easy for her to tame. She is also a LOTR fan and like Aragorn quite a bit. So this figure purchase is partly hers too. And she love the fact that...

LOL. Though haircut is not necessary, unless yours' hair is really bad. My wife just used some water and baby oil to tame the hair. It sits quite nicely now with no trimming. Just make sure you don't comb the hair so you don't lose all the gel bonding or straighten out the curls by mistake. Just...

Guys, good news. For those that has a cloak too heavily/sloppily weathered, the weathered paint can be cleaned with alcohol. My wife spent some time today experiment with it, and now we got a very nice and clean pretty cloak. Here is what she did: - Have some 70% alcohol, some Q-tips, and...

ACI Toys: 1/6 ARAGORN (Improved Production Copy updated!)

Mine is really bad. It doesn't even look like weathered, but some painter used it to clean their dirty brushes, wipe a car's wheel well, then fling some more paint on it just for fun. Its so bad to a point I am suggesting my wife to custom make a new one, and just reuse the nice Elven broach...

Just opened mine and I have to say the figure is indeed as impressive as the pictures shown. I also happen to get one with a pretty nice haircut right out of the box with some nice trimming and curly strands. I'll let my wife does her magic taming the hair as she is very good with her dolls...

    X-Plus Godzilla Vinyl Figure Thread

The 25cm Biollante cost around $500 shipped back in late 2012 when it first came out. The retail yen price is around mid 40000. And you sometimes even get discounted prices at high 30000 yen. But the yen value was still high back then, and shipping is costly for such huge box (size of 4-6 30cm...

    X-Plus Godzilla Vinyl Figure Thread

A few more shots of my newly arrived Holy Grail, the X-Plus 25cm scale Biollante. A craving of a nice Biollante had started since the late 90s. But the very expensive Bandai vinyl 'stump' doesn't seem right for me at the time. I have kind of dropped out of collecting kaijus for a while since...

    X-Plus Godzilla Vinyl Figure Thread

This got to be my favorite X-Plus Goji 30cm sculpt. The sculpt is very three dimensional, especially on the neck. View from the back or top gave it a very wide cobra neck with really cool scale pattern, but changing the angle somewhat gives it a completely different shape (as depicted in these...

    X-Plus Godzilla Vinyl Figure Thread

I first bought a X-Plus figure long ago before they have their mainlines they do now (around mid 2000). A 10" Gamera 3 figure (branded under Sega) as a UFO Catcher machine prize. Little did I knew back then that you have to blow dry the parts squishy soft for the assembly, so all I did was xacto...

1/6 Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure A note of precaution for guys consider doing the shoulder mod. The blue suit fabric is very fragile, with the 'chainmail' pattern easy to rub off or show signs of peeling. So while you are trying to take the inner collar plastic out, try to...
