Do you know the feeling when you unbox a figure you've ordered and you just get a kind of a 'meh' feeling, and it takes some time to appreciate it, if you don't end up reselling itafter all?

Well, that is définately not the case with ACI's Aragorn. Man, what a glorious piece! It's been a long time that I've been so instantly impressed and happy with a figure, even in these times of expensive quality Hot Toys-stuff.

If you have any love for Lord of the Rings, order this while you still can. Or you will regret it for ever :)

I'll do a full photo review soon, but I just got this five minutes ago and I could only snap a few quick shots before it got dark outside. Just a little taste of how good the hair on my Aragorn looked, straight out of the box, no futzing. The pics are a bit grainy, but I couldn't wait any longer to shoot and post some :lol

Someone needs to do a video showing the cutting of the hair and application on the product for those of us without the experience to do so :monkey3. The shots with the hair cut look amazing bringing to life an awesome fig

You guys are insane for even attempting to cut the hair on a $300 figure. At least one or two people here already royally botched their figure by cutting it too short. Keep the clippers away from him! A little futzing and some gel and you can make the hair look pretty good.

Reposed Aragorn today, still haven't gotten around to trimming the hair or using any product. Still loving it on display

Yeah, gotta agree. I think you can do everything you need to with some water and gel, like ACI suggests. I know if I were to buy one of these on the secondary market, it would be stock-only. No way to fix it if too much has been removed. That's not to say that some of you guys haven't done a great job, but I'm too cowardly to risk it or risk buying it if it were altered, given the price.

Yeah. No hair trimming for me either, even though my wife is very good with doll hair. Most of the curls are at the lower end of the hair strands. Cutting them means you are straightening the hair even more. If you don't know tricks to 'perm' it to bring back the little 's-curls', your figure wll look messed up. And the shorter the hair, the less weight to weigh it down, causing the hair to puff up even more. Just a little water, wax, gel, or baby oil can go a long way on styling Aragorn. I would refrain from any trimming unless yours came with a defective haircut. Not to mention Aragorn's hair don't always appear super thin. Mostly when he is in combat with sweaty hair. But there are also scenes showing him with fuller dry curly hair, which is not too far from ACI's default look.

Wife just took this photo with the untrimmed hair, with a little photoshopped texture for the background.

Aragorn by little ❤ lovelies, on Flickr

Fantastic pic, Egel. Took a quick shot of mine. It's great too see how much everyone loves this figure. ACI should be very proud.

This may be one of the most convincing shots yet and the best Aragorn I've seen at any scale. How did you manage the haircut? Looking forward to this arriving. I really wish Achilles had turned out this nicely.

Yeah the stand is not so great. Why have it split like that too? Odd that.

I'll post pics of my Aragorn tomorrow if I can as I am very happy with how he turned out after some trimming and styling.
Basically I didn't want to have to futz with the hair everytime I reposed the figure so i wanted to get it to the same state as say the Avengers Black Widow with the stiff hair.

Everything else is so bang on the money that the larger goofy hair was bothering me. If some are not bothered, then don't cut it.

Here's some amazing photos from ACI Facebook page.

That looks fantastic, great work on the hair. I know there have been better pics of it, but this picture you've taken is my favorite so far. I can't wait until mine arrives.

Thank you for the look.

Wow, that hair. I might 'try' and do it like he had it at the Black Gate in the 3rd movie, even though it's not movie accurate.
