Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe this is the Star Wars movie that Disney needed in order to see the light and get back on track. When it doesn't make a billion dollars perhaps they will change course.

Sad to say there is nothing to base off episode 9, are they going to span 30 years in movie time so that little kid becomes a jedi and rey trains her? Rey took all the books, it does not make it exciting for another film, complete what trilogy what will it take now for Kylo to turn over, Rey said she saw his future, Kylo said the same thing of her... they destroyed the jedi or sith because there is nothing left now.

Makes it seem like Disney is making them gender neutral where you can both be good with some sith influence

The opening space battle perfectly captured the chaos of the WW2 era bomber battles that was freaking insane.

Easy billion the numbers are in for lastnight 2nd highest Thursday only behind TFA which was expected.

As expected for opening Star Wars. But we'll see what happens next weekend.

I gotta ask: What happens with Leia? Is there any hint how they'll handle her not being in the next one?

After Luke levitates, he looks like he realized he had to take a major poo, then disappears, guess same could happen with leia, or she could just go for a float in space again.

Check how the RT score changed after one night -- 97% down to 60%.

Even the local news is talking about how fans are exiting angry and outraged. Word's out.


Fact is, it will probably make about 1.2 billion (that's what my gut tells me it will end up making). But I'd be happy if this didn't cross that B threshold.

You keep saying it's garbage, but from my understanding it's because of "muh luke" "muh twilight snoke". Not the actual quality of the film.

Great action
Fantastic Music
Superb Editing
Awesome Cinematography
and MUCH better writing than TFA.

Do you have to be condescending when addressing people's opinions you don't agree with? For him, those elements you blow off are directly tied to the quality of the film.

As for your positive elements,
Not all the acting was that great (Rose in particular wasn't very good)
The action was a bit spotty, especially with lightsaber fights
Music was serviceable.
Editing needed some work to build tension.
Ditto cinematography
Writing was a mess and all over the place. Very haphazard script.
