I mean, gals like Margot Robbie or Eva Green are just as stunning as in their photoshoots, even without all those touch-ups, but J-Law looked like a run-of-the-mill "amateur".

Yup. I'll take Iron's "I just did it for the cash" honesty over that fake "I love you soooo much guys" any day. There are lots of genuine actors and actresses who are just good sports all around, but there are also tons of "ass-lickers".

She cleans up nice, but I'll agree without all that she's every newbie star on Bang Bus. :lol

That's more like it. I was worried that you're hate of her was leading you to the dark side of the sexuality force.

What's the darkside? :lol

Man, time sure does fly. I don't think I've seen JA in... anything in years. Back then you were sure to see her somewhere. Hollywood, I guess.

I thought she was older but she's 35, still looking gud.

She literally has talked about loving to eat cheetos and doritos and farting a lot on set.....
Snake is right, a prettier amy shumer :lol

Ew really? That's what you want in a woman, someone that brags about having sewage water treatment plant gas.

Bang Bus has to be some of the funniest "videos" around truth be told. There are some real spoofs in there.

She does hold up nice, but she's dissappeared from the film industry. Hell, everyone from those F4 movies apart from Evans (and Fishbourne and that Nick Fury substitute from F2 who's playing Captain Holt in B99 if you count SC members) has dissappeared.

And this woman has an Oscar... It's an injustice people like her are mega-stars, whereas someone like Eva Green who is both stunning and a terrific actress, are "underground stars".

Oh yeah, I remember that... Celebrities do some dumb ****, and the worst thing is, they're open about it! I mean, don't you have any self-respect lady?!

I watched this again On Demand last type, only my second viewing after seeing it once in the theater. So much of it is just eye-rolling and poorly done, all the hand to hand combat basically sucks and Weapon X is a joke. Apocalypse looks silly and is basically a big dope. But just as with my first viewing I just couldn't bring myself to hate it when all was said and done, the 90's style cheese ended up growing on me and the main emotional beats all pretty much delivered when it counted.

One thing that I really liked in this movie that you almost never see in cbm's are the overlapping threads that indicate there is more going on in the world than just "Title bad guy against title good guys." If Apocalypse hadn't shown up you'd still have an entire movie's worth of stories with the X-Men dealing with Magneto, new recruits being trained, etc. Now I know that Apoc caused the earthquake which led to Magneto's identity being revealed but really any unrelated accident could have led to the same showdown between Magento and the cops, fellow workers, etc. In fact when Apoc shows up at the steel mill he basically ends one complete storyline that could have been all about Magneto on his own and commandeers it to be his own story. Having multiple characters with multiple and overlapping but otherwise unique agendas was actually really cool.

Too bad sum of the parts were greater than the whole in most instances (or was it the other way around, I'm still not sure, lol) with the exception of Wolverine which SHOULD have been this massive transcendent crowd pleaser but was just weak all around.

The way Magneto was brought into Apoc's fold, which prompted QS to go to the mansion, which organically allowed him to arrive just in time to save everyone from the explosion, pretty neat and clever stuff.

I still like the new kids the most and Jean's calvary moment was still really cool. I could have done with fewer moments of people screaming while wielding their powers though.

Eh, everything about the movie feels way too forced. Mystique being a hero, Magneto's plight, Apocalypse being awoken by Moira, Charles being kidnapped again and Apocalypse wanting to steal his body which for some reason causes him to lose his hair, Weapon X sequence, Quicksilver's entire arc which goes no where, lack of characterization and motivation for Apoc and the worst part is how everything is resolved either doesn't make sense or has no weight to it.

The script was just poor, the budget was obviously reduced mid production and the VX was way too inconsistent. The movie has some great scenes like BvS (loved the nuclear arms speech by Apocalypse) but overall it's just a bad movie. I also though the younger X-men lacked charisma, and we didn't spend much time with them. I'd rather see the older cast return over the younger cast.

I take issue with this. He was actually a very small dope.

True. :lol I'm always distracted when a movie takes a small actor and through trick photography tries to make us believe he's bigger. I never once went "whoa, Apoc is a big guy." All I could think was "ha ha, they're trying to make little Oscar look big. How cute." Tom Cruise is the only one that ever gets away with such tactics.

I liked the other Tom who played Bane in TDKR. Having said that I probably wouldn't have cast him in the first place on account of being too short.

Well yes, I agree with 90% of what you said with the exception of the younger kids lacking charisma and there being no emotional weight to the finale.

Oh I didn't mean the ending, I thought the ending did have some weight behind it I meant most of the character resolution with in the film, like Mystique's speech that makes Magneto see the error of his ways, Quicksilver's decision to not tell Magneto that he is his son, Havok's death etc...

I think Nightcrawler did have some charisma but we didn't spend enough time with him, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops and Sofie Turner as Jean just didn't really do it for me. As much as I like Nicholas Hoult, he's just severely miscast as Beast, and really felt irrelevant in this movie. I did like him in FC and DOFP as a younger Hank, but he supposed to be pushing 40 in this movie and just doesn't fit the older Hank part. I can't see them continuing the franchise with the younger cast, they really need to just skip to present day, and hire new actors for these roles, as much as I like Mcavoy and Fassbender, they can't keep being the focus of these movies. And with High retiring, there's not much star power or top tier talent to continue these prequel films going.

Fox can still keep the Singer-verse going, just hire new actors, and jump to present day.

Yeah the only Mystique scene that I actually enjoyed in the entire movie was her in the back of the jet telling the kids about the team's first flight in FC. But even that was mostly due to the FC flashbacks and then the kids' reactions. Her character was pretty poor throughout. Glad she spent the final confrontation face down in the dirt.

Am I the only one who wants to see the xmen fight there actual villains and not other members of the xmen? We haven't had xmen vs the brotherhood since x1.

X2 was stryker and a small fight with lady deathstrike

X3 was the whole jean grey mess.

Origins.......

First class did an ok job of making mutants with different opinions fight each other.

And apocalypse was just little xmen fighting mis guided future xmen. Hell they even ****ed up angel whose supposed to be good but then brainwashed and turned bad and his skin becomes blue.

I know most people don't want a reboot but I sure do. I'm just glad Logan looks to put wolverine at his full potential finally and not hold him back.

With so much going on in the world today we could use a deep xmen movie that touches the issues of racism and oppression. Hell it would sell like gold today as of right now.

I like that scene too, as well as Charles giving Moira back her memories from the end of FC. There was some decent stuff but overall the movie just felt unnecessary and forced.

Yeah, I mean I'm definitely not saying that the drama was on par with Netflix Luke Cage or that the editing was as elegant as Suicide Squad but it was nice to finally see an X-Men movie that will finally help us forget the travesty that was X2. Agreed?
