So pretty much if Apoc is so powerful why even bother recruiting just do your stuff and vaporize, he is too short to be menacing, movie is slow until exciting finale and Jlaw always showing her face, got it. :lol

T- minus 4 hours and counting.

That's a very stupid part of the script indeed.
I'd understand it if there was a hint at him actually bein' afraid of other powerful mutants.
But nope, only da Phoenix could defeat him. Which brings the Q... If he was controlin' Charles he'd know of Jean's hidden power and would try to make her one of his horsemen. But nope, he died with "OH S***" face on.

he is too short to be menacing
Even tho the actor wears ridiculous boots on platforms. :lol

Eh, that finale was not exciting at all.

Jlaw always showing her face.
TBH Raven's a very public figure after DoFP so it's ok.
Yes, I just said that more J-Law isn't an issue.

bitchy compliant 1). Apocalypse is all powerful, why does he need 4 horsemen... ?

logical response: it's been that way since 1986, if you have a problem with the "plot holes" its based off the COMIC BOOK.
Also another logical response as to why Apocalypse needs four horsemen irrespective of his power, is competitive advantage. If he focuses solely on his task as opposed to micro-managing others ... he isn't really a great leader. Rome was not built over night ... just as the AVENGERS don't rely soley on ONE character even though they have a HULK...

and reviewing a poorly bootlegged copy does not do the film any justice. it obviously skews the perspective of the film.

Just left my theater. Still annoyed that this movie was not released in IMAX here in the States. Good job, FOX.

I'll start off by saying that FIRST CLASS & DAYS OF FUTURE PAST are perfect films for me. Exceptional writing, character development and pacing. APOCALYPSE lacks all three. Singer [& co-writers Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris] definitely needed to take a few more passes at the script before going into production.

Having said that, the film isn't bad. Just mediocre at times.

There are truly great moments that individually are far better than most of what Disney's Marvel stable will deliver (look for Poland, guys). The problem is the film as a whole wasn't as great as some of those lone scenes. Add to that how completely irrelevant the 80s setting was to the piece. The decade should have been one of the film's biggest characters.

What elevates the film slightly was the inclusion of one particular character
Spoiler Spoiler:
that in his 5-6 minutes steals the whole picture with fierce bravado.

Hoping for a less undercooked script come 2018 when the X-Men return for their next adventure, to be set in the 90s. 8/10 (would have been 7/10 had said character not made an appearance).

I think the mantle may have been passed on to the next generation.

Yeah, the end roster was cool with the updated costumes.

Its gonna take me a while to get over how undercooked Apocalypse was.

Hopefully Josh Boone knocks NEW MUTANTS outta the park, and Mangold does the same with OLD MAN LOGAN.

Got back an hour ago and here I go.

If CW is like driving a sexy exotic super car at 270 on a freshly paved straight away then XMA is like driving a 4x4 in reverse on a steep rocky hill...with a flat tire...while drunk...not wearing a seatbelt...with the airbags turned off...with your mother in law in the backseat...who happens to enjoy the prequel trilogy.

Well, I'll be seeing this, but at least I don't have to pay for it.

I can see where you're coming from but there's alotta good stuff in there too.

The scenes in Poland alone make it watchable. Add Quicksilver and

and that's worth the price of admission.

Oh man. I'll probably be catching it shortly after the holiday weekend. :lol

Was it "waste of time" bad or "lots of lolz" bad?
