I think overall it's decent, and I can see a lot of people being perfectly happy with this. But for me, it's another example of Star Ace's apparent rush to get these Harry Potter figures out at the expense of their quality.

Let's hope Snape is their last miss and they get back on track. They are more than capable and it's a good sign they seem to be working on the Dumbledores and Draco sculpts etc. A little teaser from KA Kim would go down well, right about now! Ha! Live in hope.

If most collectors feel as at least half of us do here, then I'm optimistic at picking this up at a reasonable price later.

I hope so. I want it for the clothing and accessories, which do seem to be good.

Personally I decided to go for it. It looks pretty good to me, and I am sure will be great in hand. A few people here seem quick to write off the head sculpt without having actually seen it yet...

???

We've seen it in multiple photos and at least one video review now. It's well known what it looks like.

I also believe they look a lot different in hand, I thought Voldermort (Both Sculpts) were the best out of the entire line. I also felt Sirius looked much better in person than any video or picture.

I've never bought a figure that looked DRASTICALLY different in hand than it did in multiple photos online (with various lighting styles) and video footage. Sure, some look a bit better, maybe a tiny bit different because of the lighting in my own house affecting the shadows/look of the paintwork, but nothing drastic. Ever.

I think it's silly to "write off" a figure when we've got one, maybe two cruddy quality photos to look at, but at this point Snape's sculpt has been well photographed and shown in clear video footage, from all angles, etc etc. I know that for me personally, it's disappointing. Everyone else is free to enjoy it, though! :)

Nobody mentioned drastic differences (either capital or italic). Just look at the Triwizard Harry thread. So many pictures look quite a lot different (big nose, not big nose, chubby, not chubby). I doubt I am getting that particular figure, but I would be interested to see it in person. And this seems to happen a lot. If you have never noticed a difference between pictures and in person then that's great, it means you have been lucky, selective or happy either way, so more power to you my friend.

To me Snape looks good. It could be better, for sure, but most sculpts could be (except maybe BD Robocop, that thing is so well sculpted and painted). And I am pretty sure in hand Snape will be even better. Medicom's head does look good (never seen it in person) but not for twice the price it's now going for.
With the sculpt, costume, accessories and the current retail price I think Snape is worth picking up, and that's what the original question was. Just my opinion as answer to it, not looking to disagree or argue.

Manannin, I really appreciate your post. At a certain point, some people's comments seem to try so hard to be persuasive that they almost sound like they're trying to persuade themselves more than anyone else, lol.

Well, I stand by what I said - that "overall it's decent," but Star Ace could have done better. I really hope they slow down a little, because some of their other teased releases, like Dumbledore, are messy. Their first few releases were much stronger. I want this entire line to be excellent. Luckily, it sounds like they might be reworking some stuff on a few figures we've seen. Fingers crossed.

Looking forward to better photos of the outfit once people start receiving this.

Thanks, but yeah i'm hoping it looks better in hand but it's a bit of a risk for me, being from Australia and with the currency rate at the moment i'm looking at probably dropping around $400 for him :lol

Has anyone here received him yet?

I'm disapointed about Dumbledore too, it's such a shame they put so much into the first couple of figures but not the rest.. This line has so much potential to be brilliant! I'd love a well made Dobby and dementor :clap (i'm hoping if i say it enough they might hear it :lol)

I've checked with my supplier and it has been delayed, no solid release for me yet and I guess it's the same across the Uk. I personally feel mad eye was quite a drastic difference when I received him. Not as bad as people made out though...

I cancelled Mad-Eye in the end. He looked too different from the prototype for my liking..

Hope everyone puts up their pics of Snape when they get him! :)

I think he looks good...not the best clear photo ever but I'm liking what I'm seeing.

They could have taken 5 seconds to futz the cloak, but over all, it looks pretty good to me. I think the face looks the best there, compared to any of the official pics.
