Yeah I hated how the monsters did that, they were a pain in the ass to deal with. U3 didn't really do that, and I respect it for that.

Have finished 1 and 2 so far in the remastered trilogy.
1 looks surprisingly decent for a game that is very old by this stage. Don't remember how simple and short it is compared to the sequels but good fun.
2 looks stunning. I'd have no complaints if that were released right now as a PS4 game.

Game mechanics in the later stages of both 1 and 2 against the monsters are still utter dog****, based around duck & cover gameplay and then suddenly introducing monsters that charge and ignore said gameplay mechanic. ... but expected that so no biggie.

Good points. On the length, I actually set about and beat UDF in one sitting once. It was about my 9th or 10th run through the game, and I decided to have a cinematic day of my favourite franchise. I set the game on Normal and played in linearly, probably finishing it in about 5 hours or so. That's not normally the way I game. I'm into much shorter spells (although I have been known to get completely lost in Final Fantasy and GTA games for hours on end)

Tried it some time later with U2. Even though IMO it is a much better game, more fun, more cinematic etc, I think I only got up to about the train sequence.

So continuing on .... must say, I'm shocked at how good number 3 is. Hindsight is an interesting thing.
We often see the same with movie and book sequels. When something is so good that it is irrelevant if the sequel is 9.5/10, its just disappointing because they didn't manage to clearly top it....
Enjoying it much more on this play through on the PS4 ....maybe because I'm playing them all back to back and appreciating more the different style of narratives. Directly after finishing U2's tight narrative, the more globe spanning larger scale action set pieces of number 3 are a welcome addition.

I'm going to have to agree with you again, lol. Ok, I still have a long way to go in U3 (have just started Chapter 9), but playing all 3 back to back with a single playthrough, I'm noticing the changes in style so much more, and the improvements between U2 and U3. Not as noticeable as the jump from UDF to U2, but improvements all the same. The set-pieces are much better, and the stealth/battle sequences add more gameplay variety. There is a real use for stealth this time around, other than farming a trophy/reward points.

I still think U2 is a better story, the level design is tighter and the levels link together better. Something also feels a little different with the shooting in U3 too. Each game feels like it gets a bit quicker, I don't seem to be pulling off the headshots in the third like I should, and my blindfire and shoot from the hip shotgun tactics don't seem so effective.

I'm glad I played the trilogy this way on the PS4. For all the runs I've played through the 3 games on the PS3, I've never played them so close together before. It's an enjoyable way to do it rather than playing each game to death 4 times in a row 2 or so years apart,

I just got the Platinum trophy for Uncharted 1 in one playtrough, took me about 13 hours altogether. It's much, MUCH more easier than on PS3.

Now onto U2 on Crushing!

Man, Uncharted 2 looks soooo good! Way better than the 1st remaster and the controls are silky smooth yet again.

So is the collection presented as one big game? Or is it you choose which game you play from the menu screen?

It's one big stage, and you have to play all the games in one sitting, without any saves or continues :duff.

Man, Crushing is no big deal on PS4..

It's no big deal when you got a buddy on here who displayed how to beat the first two games on Crushing with little problems :lecture all when he was a young 15/16/17 year old too

Crushing mode is ridiculously easy, and for some reason I think it's even easier on the remasters, the water room in UC1 definitely got nerfed. I just started brutal mode, and now that's tough :lol

If you thought Crushing was hard, then don’t even try brutal :lol

But yea, I have no interest beating each game on crushing for a 3rd time.

Golden Abyss was awesome, I personally think it's better than UC1.

It's not impossible, but saying 'ridiculously easy' is a huge stretch.

It really isn’t, I don’t even have much to game as much as I would like these days, but I had no problem beating all 3 remastered games on crushing in less than a week. I honestly believe Crushing was very easy. I’d love to watch you make a video of brutal though, some parts feel borderline impossible.

Kind sorta. All games have their own menus but shares the same options setting. You could also switch between games in seconds.

Dude, I don't want to get arrested!

I'll say. They're minor annoyance at best since the controls have improved dramatically, hence why they had to create a new difficulty just to make it hard again. :lol

With how well done these games are, I am hoping for a PS4 release of the PSP Uncharted game...would be NICE!

:exactly:

Golden Abyss was an underrated gem. I really loved the game for what it is. I'm assuming remastering that would have required more effort than what Sony would want to pay for.

wait, Brutal is an actual new difficulty?

Ryan...tell me more :monkey3
