Full reveal looks pretty good as a whole. I like the concept of Spidey leaping over a falling building and its executed nicely. The ex is a waste imo but that would be tossed in storage anyway, so it doesn't detract from my impression on this.
My biggest concern is definitely leaning over time, as that building is falling and that puts the figure at a sharp angle. I really hope Sideshow uses metal support rods and doesn't go the penny pinching route on this one. The fans deserve their best effort here especially since they're asking for near $500 shipped.
Not keen on the orange poo explosion effect either atm but the bombs are a nice touch.

Did we ever get confirmation if there is going to be a metal rod going through his arm to prevent leaning? I think Igo was talking about it on SF but didn't confirm anything?

I love this piece! Spidey looks great. I don't mind the fire effect paint job. I love it on the Darth Vader Mythos. Day 1 PO and EX!
I didn't like the Ex portrait at first either.. But in the one photo you can tell that he is aiming his web shooter and I think that is pretty cool.
Surprised they did not go with a more classic look for the alt head.
Anyways I love it as a whole. Ex is not a must but I will get it anyways.
I think that if that statue comes out looking like the promo images it will be one of the best 1/4 statues on the market. The alt head is dumb IMO. So I'm not sure if the EX is a must have for me. I'm hoping they do a large edition size and I can grab him down the road for a little cheaper. I also wanna see how the Black Spidey ends up looking before ordering this.

that base is not for me. I can only imagine what inhand pieces will look like.
I agree with those who would have preferred NOT having the smoke/fire/bombs.
having said that, it is about as dynamic a spidey as we'll ever see in this scale. ordered : )

The whole thing really reminds me of a Mike Deodato Spidey panel. It kinda screams his style.
Well unless you display these in the open, Any cabinets you decide to display these in will fill up and cause some issue eventually. I just wish they would decide to take some liberties with the width and depth rather than reaching new heights. Don't think thats too much to ask.
I don't know man, but am not blown away by this, (pun intended). Spidey looks ok, ex is useless, steel girder & hook seem way too small scale wise, pricing has become a joke (on us!), & the close-up of portraits already show sloppy paint apps for blk webbing lines???!!! The explosion cloud should have maybe been done in some type of translucent acrylic with beam showing through, as I have little faith the the factory paint will convey their intent. The only positive, maybe, is knowing that GG can't be too far behind. Green Goblin better be fully sculpted & amazing. Original SS Spidey comi is still king, until XM gets the green light, & blows all away.
I understand this sentiment, but then people ***** about the same old poses being used. You're never gonna please everyone. Space & money are the 2 biggest issues in collecting. I'd rather the creators have the freedom to sculpt w/ no restrictions than make sure all things are considered.

I understand your point. I just don't agree. I live in an apartment now and I can't display my statues as I want to but I plan to display them much differently when I get more space. With that being said I like having things not uniform and finding the "best" way to display stuff. I like spider man statues being "tall" I like him being above others and his base etc fits into that. I know it comes down to a mix a preference and capability to display stuff I am just extremely selective of the statues in 1/4 scale I get and I like them more unique I.E not in the confines of specific parameters.

They did, look at the hulks. Could have easily been 25 inches tall, the hunched him over and made him 20inches deep. Then people complained he looked too short. Point is they should design it how it looks best. Not on cabinets

Love the way Spidey looks...just not a fan of the explosion effect. Still a great looking piece.
Yup missed out on that comm would of been an easy pass if I already had a 1/4th but alas i don't....yet
Yeah, I have the original Spidey and Venom COMs so if SSC releases another Green Goblin PF ( I didn't like the 1st GG PF), that'll be all I need to wrap up my Spidey related PFs.
