Looks like that's it for Webb's ASM series! If it is I can't believe how stupid SONY Pictures really is, they're never happy when they have something good and interfere enough to ruin it then wipe clean characters that you've gotten used too.

I read this rumor somewhere else as well

The rumor came from an insider and said that they are planning a new reboot, Not a beginning story, but Peter is in College. and they want to make it a lower budget movie where Spiderman goes after mobsters at first and then the second half will deal with a super villain (Kingpin might show up or something like that)

The movie will act like if Peter has been spiderman for years before the movie and has just been taking care of petty thieves, but never a big supervillain until now. They will introduce Mary Jane,

The Villain will be either Mysterio or Kraven. It will end on a cliffhanger.

this all might be complete BS but it is going around some of the comic movie sites I go to.

There's quite a few mob villains in the spider-Man stable. That episode arc SSM cartoon with the gang war was awesome.

For budget they just need to lay off the beyond excessive amount spent on ASM2. 1/2 of the budget was spent on far too much marketing

Honestly I think a deal may be made since Sony is proven to be to stupid to handle it. Asm was a great start but then it went downhill with universe building and pushing for sinister six without buildup. The fact we haven't heard anything from marvel or Sony makes me wonder.

Damn that sounds pretty good. I think though if that was the case, it'd do much better as a live action tv series. Flash proves that you don't need a ton of CGI.

Also to me films need to be epic and ultimate. Doesn't fit well with just small timers. If Spidey has been around a while; thugs aren't difficult.

Then in Phase 3 you make The Sinister Six come after him since they know who he is. You can do it with Garf or as a clean reboot and just pretend he's already established. It's nothing an opening credits scene in S6 can't establish in a few mins tops. Have him as a full on Avenger in Infinity Wars and maybe with the Iron Suit from Stark.

Then you can do another Spidey stand alone where he faces off with Kraven and uses the black suit(leave Kraven off the six). Which leads to a Venom Vs Carnage movie where Peter is more of a secondary character.

I heard the decision has already been made as far as Webb/Garfield and their ASM series, Sinister Six is still on apparently which is really confusing.
