Fox is pretty hit and mess with their X-castings IMO, so I hope they get someone good when they finally replace Hugh and don't just try to get an actor who can emulate Hugh's Wolverine.

I don't know many spoilers for this film, but if they end up using the same characters and make them younger in the sequels (Jean, Cyclops, Storm, etc.) I hope they are cast better than the original films.

When he does get replaced, I honestly hope it's not with the same cast or same universe since it will be unsettling seeing the same cast and some new guy I think.

Most of the cast in the first set of films were awful as for hoping to get actors not going to happen if the same team is doing this .

Yeah, it's always tough for me on the first watch when they make casting changes for select roles. If the movie is great, you're probably going to want to see it more times, and it will hopefully become less of an issue. Let's just hope they get someone with as much passion for the role as Jackman!

Honestly, as much as I loved First Class, I think the day Jackman leaves is the day we start to see the transition to Marvel Studios/Disney. His Wolverine is one of the biggest draws for these movies, I think, in regards to the general public, and, frankly, I'm not sure the franchise could subside on the next generation of X-Men. We'll start to see the box office numbers slip, we'll get a few attempts at a reboot, and, then, we'll see them finally bite the bullet and sell.

I watched this 2 days ago. So restless and want to discuss with someone who watched as well.
I can say without spoilers that it is the best of all xmen movies

Please Singer, be innocent!!!

I hope so too man.
I've been bitter on X-men movies cause my favorite rajun cajun has been taking the backseat, and fortunately for me,
I like wolverine: Origins and its nice to finally see Gambit there.
As much as I would like Kitch to reprise the role, I doubt they will pick him again, and I hope to god
Singer has a say on which actor to play Gambit.
I cant stand Tatum. He is wrong for the part.
I mean, before giving him the part, they should have at least tested other actors and if he happens to nail it,
then give him the role.
But they basically gave him the role just cause he's a big fan, and I'm sure because of his dumb Magic Mike movie,
They're basically just using him as a cash cow to entice female fans.

Ung...Never thought I'd actually care what's the verdict on Singer's trial.
From what I remember reading, Singer wants Gambit to be one of the main character's for Apocalypse movie.
If that's the case, he should have a big say on which actor to play Gambit.

Thats true, they should have other actors test for the role, I guess Fox is thinking of spinoffs and really expanding the universe, I just could never see Kitsch being able to have his own spinoff Gambit film. He has the box office curse that Ryan Reynolds has. I think Tatum can get it done, he really needs to nail the accent, everything else is easy, and the good news is he keeps emphasizing on nailing that accent. Kitsch’s cajun accent never really did it for me, but he was also being directed by Gavin Hood instead of Singer, so he never really had a chance at doing Gambit justice to begin with.

As for Singer, things are starting to look better for him, his accuser has been caught making some contradictory statements these past few days.

https://www.tmz.com/2014/05/15/michael-egan-bryan-singer-disney-david-neuman-lawsuit-sexual-abuse/

Former Disney Prez David Neuman and "X-Men" director Bryan Singer did not sexually molest accuser Michael Egan -- so claimed Egan himself in sworn legal docs.

Egan signed a sworn declaration in 2003 after suing 3 other men (not Neuman or Singer) ... who allegedly molested him as a teenager back in the '90s at various parties.

Egan's 2003 declaration states, "I have never had any kind of physical contact with David Neuman other than what is normal and appropriate between non-sexual acquaintances."

The declaration goes on, "Up until this last month [December 2003], I have only had incidental social contact with David Neuman, which involved primarily the exchange of polite greetings and small talk. … [Neuman] never acted improperly around me or toward me, on a personal or professional level."

And get this ... during Egan's sworn deposition in the earlier case, he said no one other than the 3 defendants were "partaking in all this stuff." Egan now claims Singer was partaking, but his sworn words a decade ago flatly contradict that.

Neuman is asking the judge to throw out the case against him.

https://www.newnownext.com/bryan-si...o-hawaii-where-alleged-rape-occurred/05/2014/

Michael Egan, the man who claims X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer drugged and raped him in 1999, has some explaining to do. In a 2003 deposition discovered by Buzzfeed, Egan testified that he’s never been to Hawaii, where the sexual assault is reported to have taken.

BuzzFeed reports:
Asked during the deposition whether he had taken any trips outside the continental United States, Egan replied, “Never had any trips outside the continental U.S., no.” Egan then responds to a question specifically clarifying that he had never traveled to Hawaii.

The 2003 suit also involved rape allegations—not against Singer but rather his co-defendants in the current case.

Unlike other jurisdictions, Hawaii has extended the statute of limitations on cases like Egan’s. (The deadline for Egan’s case was April 24, 2014 and he file on April 16, 2014.) Egan also alleges Bryan abused him in a mansion in Encino — allegations that are not undermined by this new evidence.

I’m sure Deckard would never have posted these articles :lol

Not saying Singer is innocent of course, but right now, the “victim” is starting to look like a liar.

Woah!!!

I don’t want any spoilers but do you think you can rank the best performances?

Weren't you the one initially complaining that articles pertaining to this would just derail the thread when Deckard posted it? At least Deckard's not a freaking hypocrite.

The first few I did, then he posted like 10 more and I never said a thing because he was actually informing someone who wanted to know, like I just did. Also trying to balance out the Singer bashing in here, is that a problem? Anyway I can see you’re about to derail this thread with a meaningless argument, so how about you actually talk about the film, something you rarely do in this thread.

Always the martyr, ptut, what a hypocrite. This is my third or fourth post in the past week. A couple posts on the Beast character, one post about them possibly retro zapping some stuff like they did on dallas and then this post. Sorry im not a lifeless little crap like you who has nothing better to do than cheerleader this movie like u do everyday. Takes two to argue, if you're above it like you always act, then suck it up and move on. I remember you acting like it was below the board to talk about this when Deckard first posted it, probably wouldn't have even remembered that, but you had to bring him up and it reminded me of what you'd said. You always want to call people out, oh no, they're negative... oh no, they don't agree with what I think should be on this board, you sure don't like anyone critiquing you though, do you? :lol

Oh no! I’m being critiqued :horror

Also, if you don't mind... If this is now the best X-Men to you, what was the best movie in your opinion prior to seeing this?

Wow. Interestin question. I dont know if there is any BEST performance cos all gave their best. Im biased cos I think james mcavoy is an incredible actor and what he portrayed was beautiful especially the scene with Sir patrick.

I honestly didnt see much cameo. Someone said cable as in the first few minutes which was POSSIBLE but I cant confirm. I can tell u that I saw bryan singer in the film which was obvious yet my frenz couldnt see him. If anyone catches him post it here. ;)
If ure asking about any other cameos...its best to watch it cos again that WILL spoil the tearful joyful experience.

Per your second question. I wouldnt say its centered around him.. hes thrust into the show as well you know HES the one going back to the past. But without spoilers the main story and focus heavily rely on the cast from First Class more than X1-3

Thanks for your response :hi5:

He’s actually my favorite actor working right now, so I’m with you on that.

Its all a matter of taste isn't it. I dont understand why people liked x1 sp much yet banned x3 so much too. I dont hate x3 but was surprised how the crew and producers said in interview that this dofp will be done RIGHT finally and is in the right hands.. come on!
I would say that FC would be good storywise but overall loved X2 the best. So now X2 is 2nd for me.
What is so great about dofp is how bryan worked and used ALL movies into consideration. Everyone who watched all xmen movies will be rewarded
