I kind of wondered if they aren't heavily packing both Dany and Tyrion (the two most popular of the characters in these waves, I'd say) and maybe the Dany-heavy case is hitting first? A lot of B&N's didn't even get Tyrion, but maybe he'll be more heavily packed in later cases, especially when it hits more stores.

I can't imagine they'd severely short one just to heavily pack them in a subsequent case. Some places aren't even getting Tyrions is the weird thing. I think the wave has some equally popular characters, save perhaps the walker. He can easily be an army builder for some though. Ned was the main character of season 1 and the Hound has a surprisingly strong fan base, so I can't say anyone is really an unpopular character choice. I think Tyrion is by far the favorite character of the wave though, so I don't get why they'd short pack him in ANY case. From a cost perspective, he would likely be their favorite as his size would likely cost a lost less than the Hound or Walker. So I'd have thought they'd want him to be the most heavily packed figure. Weird.

Here are some better shots:

I went to my local barnes and noble today to pick up the figures, but they wouldn't sell them to me because of the 15th street date, even though I can go on thier website and do the "Pick me up in store" thing. I'll go back this saturday to get them. I'll be there at the stores opening so hopefully no one can beat me to the punch.

For those of you who have them, are they in-scale with the old toybiz lord of the rings figures? Or are they smaller?

Hmmm.... all B&N's should have gotten a message that they can break the street date. That's what my B&N told me.
As for price, they are $16.99 retail, but B&N has them for $19.99.

Fantastic shots Buttmunch. I'm surprised at how good they look, I like Neds sculpt the most, then maybe hound. Love that shot with snow and the walker lol!

Why does Dany look more like an Imp than Matt Damon Tyrion?

They're scanned likenesses by Gentle Giant, who do the Star Wars Black figures. I think they have the same strengths and weaknesses as those. I do think the paint work could be refined on some, to be sure. But a good first effort all around.

I know right. :lol

from the neck down these look fine, but those head sculpts...wow
Yeah, I'm not so enthused about these anymore. Tyrion and Daenerys' head sculpts look quite awful. The rest I think just suffer from bad paint apps.

Think I'm gonna pass on Daenerys and maybe Tyrion. The others are good enough, especially The Hound with that awesome helmet.

Nice pics, Buttmunch. As far as paint and sculpt White Walker is the best. New doesn't looks anything like Bean. :lol Still, I say he's still a pretty solid figure. The paint it so-so. For $20 I still wish Neca wpould have picked this line up. They're pretty cool though. Still debating if I want to get into this line. I try to stay away from this scale nowadays...but the wait for ThreeZero will be tough. The Hound is still my favorite and Tyrion right behind him.

I normally steer clear of retail figures too, but GoT and TWD have such large casts that an action figure line is really the only way to get a near-complete cast. Sure ThreeZero's figures are going to be awesome, but we won't be getting as many characters as this line and McFarlane's TWD line will. That's the biggest attraction for me with these. Are the perfect, no, but they are still quite nice once you get past the stuck joints and possible breakage.

I don't watch the show so i'll only get figures i think look cool; from this wave the white walker because i think the design stands out a lot and the hound because he looks badass with that helmet on. Google images tell me jaime lannister has some pretty rad armor so if the figure turns out well i'll pick him and drogo up from the next wave.

Agreed. My Ned is great. He looks a ton like Sean Bean. Hound is nice, and Tyrion looks great too (but I don't have him yet.) Only Danerys really seems off. Mine actually looked better in person than in pics (I think it can vary some figure to figure) but she's not QUITE there.

Hopefully they can perfect that for her Mother of Dragons version.

They're looking pretty weak sculptwise. Ned's almost unrecognizable. May as well be based on the book versions. I hope these improve, atm the White Walkers the only one that looks good. Would love to get in on this line if they look a bit better in newer pics.

Same feelings after the latest pics.

I'll grab a White Walker and maybe a Tyrion if theres one with great paint. Hound maybe if I leave the helm on at all times.

Didn't someone mention they will be doing another Dany in Series 2? I'll wait for her, hopefully she'll turn out better.
