Feel bad about people who got conned. I was on the verge of bidding on him listed by one of the Vietnamese sellers, but somehow I resisted. I remember asking the guy EMS/Speedpost charges to which he replied: "EMS/GIFT/US$20" Guess that did it, I had my 1/6 sense telling me that something ain't right...

I contacted many of the buyers and warned them of the fakes. hope they get their money back. I dont want them to be turned off to this hobby and Hot Toys because of some greedy ****** bag.

The problem though is how to prove it (if it is true). If these were numbered or something, it might be a little easier to disprove/prove it. But as is, I don't know how it can be done, unless the sculpt is so blatantly off that you can tell.

True, but I'll wait until it's in my hands until I pass final judgement. You can still file a claim if it's not as described. I know Ebay is usually on the buyers side.

Hopefully, with enough claims/complaints, Ebay will see that this guy is passing off counterfeit product as originals and yank his auctions and user names.

It is a shame what is happening here. Wolverine will be selling for less than original retail within 2 months regardless of real or fake due to this. I contacted ebay on these sellers over a month ago as I suspected something was wrong.:gah: If you look at their feedback, in every instance they were selling $.99 items with NO PICTURE. All buyer ID's have the same less than 10 feedback score and similiar user name with alpha numeric coding. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know they are up to no good. Can't believe the Wolvie buyers don't question this:slap

Thought i would throw up a pic of my ht wolverine.

Honestly the way I feel now about HT figures is that unless you get them when they first come out, or within I would say a few months of them reaching the dealers and ebay sellers, you're screwed. I mean 1 year + gives these thieves ample time to create fakes

I agree, and I think this will eventually hold true for a lot of the polystone pieces as well. There's been a few pieces that I said 'Oh, I'll get that one day' and now, with the recasts, I won't touch ANY of them because I can't tell the difference and don't want the burden of 'what if.'

Well, the buying point for me was the fact that others actually left positive feedback for these Wolverines.

As soon as I get mine in the mail, I'll post some pics of it. I used to own a HT Wolverine (regretted selling it) so I'll know what's legit and what isn't....maybe..:gah:

That's the sad thing. Some of these collectors are noticing the difference and leaving positive feedback. They have no clue what they have. And I don't blame them. If I never had a HT Wolverine (which I don't,) I might not ever be able to pick a fake because I'd have nothing to fall back on for reference.

Not all the sellers have less then 10 feedback. This is my transaction FYI I ran out of characters to write a complete sentence:

Feedback Left for Date / Time
THESE ARE COPIES!! NOT ORIGINAL! YOUR STUPIDYOU PAY MORE THEN $100 Seller: xensepms749 ( 244) Jul-21-11 16:21

I think this is the best way to do things at this point, in terms of getting word of mouth out there about them.

Not the sellers feedback, the buyers that got the sellers feedback to over 150 positive. If you look at the feedback left. The buyers of the $.99 stuff all have less than 10 feedback (and I mean ALL).

Have you contacted Ebay about the transaction? Wondering how that goes if you do....

Went to paypal and opened a dispute and escalad it. Wanted a full refund or $250 and I keep it. Its worth $100 for a custom.

Just saw your auction. Looks like you paid around the same as me. I'll probably do the same thing as you and either request a full refund and return it or a partial $250 refund and keep it.

I wonder if Ebay/Paypal usually rules in favor of the buyer in these types of situations...

....and this is what really sucks about collecting 1:6 figures. You have to know in advance if you want something for sure. Because if you wait more than a year these figures skyrocket in price.

Damn, glad I got a legit Wolverine then before all these fakes popped up on evilbay.

Anyway, since I'm somewhat new, I figured I show off my Wolverine, along with his two "playmates!"

not to derail from the "fake ht wolvie" discussion, but that is damn good looking victor there.
