This Wolverine body is going to be used for other characters, so it's close to Jackman, but not so exact it can't be used for others too, it looks like the Comedian will be using it.

There are so many characters I can think of that could use this body.

I will not be surprised if this is used for Prince of Persia and Whiplash.
It would be great for a Riddick figure too. (Please Hot Toys, make it so)

While not perfect, I think it'd make a good McClane from the first Die Hard. I'd actually find it useful for Rambo in First Blood, but that sculpt would look so crappy on such a nice body, but Stallone was more this body size in that film than the body HT used for the figure.

Big difference is, Enterbay can recycle the Bruce Lee body for him so it was worth their effort to sculpt it exactly to him. yeah, this is a good point - i never thought about it like this! in that case, i'd prefer they do what they have done so it enables reuse rather than sculpt each body separately and jack up the price. however, not all the enterbay bruce bodies are exactly the same. there are very subtle differences, but yeah - definitely wouldn't need a complete resculpt.

and dino - no joke dude. the buck is awesome. it burns 4 times quicker than paper. best thing i've found for starting fires.

and when the HELL is someone going to get on the DIE HARD case???!! isn't it about time??? in fact i'm heading over to HT HQ right now.

Honestly, I think it's really odd that an iconic action franchise like that hasn't been officially picked up, I can think of any other action series from the 80's that should have at least one figure from it that has nothing. I'd like McClane from the first and fourth films. I missed out on the Subway figure from the fourth.

and you're absolutely right - with this new body technology, they could do it real justice. i'd buy a mcclane from all 4 films.

the only other 80s action franchise i can think of is perhaps beverly hills cop. oh come on... you guys wouldn't want an axel foley on your shelf? for nostalgia's sake? they could maybe work the theme tune into a sound chip in the base.

I'd buy Axel from the first BHC, I love the first two. That also reminds me, Lethal Weapon is another franchise, not sure I'd get anything from it, but I enjoy how Cop and Weapon combine 80's action and comedy into a nice package, it's too bad BCH 3 forgot the action and overdid the comedy, I'm hoping 4, if it really happens, goes back to the roots. Bruckheimer leaving the franchise was its death.

You should swing off the roof using a fire-hose and smash through their office window demanding Die Hard figures.

That should get their attention.

Yeah Enterbay come out with a different body for each Bruce release, and each release gets cheaper. So they're jacking down the price. Whatever, look at how many different bodies Hot Toys makes. There is no need for a price hike because the body is different.

truesay ma critcha!

but i'm not sure you could correlate enterbay's price reductions directly to the body being renewed or reused even. i think their means of producing the figures has reduced slightly since they started with the GOD fig. back then they were MUCH smaller, and probably had higher startup costs. and over their last few figs, these costs have been reduced. that's my hypothesis.

maybe "jack up" the price was not what i meant. what i meant was, if the body is reused, they must make a saving in research, design, and development of the body for the next fig. perhaps the cost of HT's variety in bodies is spread over many of their figures, which is why the price stays fairly constant or rises only slightly (but it has definitely risen since e.g. the rocky figs). if they reused the wolvie for quite a few figs, they could theoretically pass on the saving to consumers as a lower price.

sadly, i don't think that'll happen soon. not when they sell out of pretty much everything they make anyway. and therein lies the rubadubdub.

Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are both classic action franchises. I would definitely want to buy a few figures from a Die Hard line - McClane from each film, Hans Gruber, Karl, William Sadler's villain from 2, Sam Jackson from 3...maybe jeremy irons' Simon gruber if the likeness was good...probably just McClane from the 4th as I didn't like the film.

From Lethal Weapon I'd probably just be interested in the obvious 2 from any of the films. Apart from Jet Li in 4 the villains don't seem very figure-worthy to me.

I'm being careful to say "would want to buy" because it doesn't necessarily mean I could buy them.

I'd go along with that. I don't think I need to quote your whole post.

Hot Toys sales model isn't governed by the same collectible limited edition one that Sideshow uses. I would tend to think that Sideshows would be affected by body types and reuse of the same body type as much as possible.

Hot Toys doesn't divulge edition sizes, so collectible would be more dependent upon preorder demand. The more popular the greater the edition size. Each figure would reuse a body mold or not, as in this instance.

Where Sideshow may continue a line dependent upon its previous figures success, Hot Toys may choose other options. One being that each figures success builds upon any figure, or lines, success. Each figure is geared to profit, via preorder demand, so the success of the company stays intact.

I've noticed that Hot Toys and Enterbay figures prices are tending to be lower. Some of Hot Toys are higher, dependent upon licence, and most have been particularly stable.

I'm good on waiting on Sideshow, no probs there, don't really need this for Christmas waaaaaay to many other items :monkey4

Same here, but is an exciting figure, I've wanted a Wolverine to enjoy since Origins hit theaters but my Medicom broke when I brought it out back then, so I've been without a Wolverine since and I'm eager to have him back in the collection, and this is such a nice one too.

Have any Wolverine statues Maul?
