No I had tons of McFarbabes,Matrix,Conan,12" figures,Tortured Souls etc... Sold everything and start collecting PF's.

We don't even know what the Suit is made of... SS is good to release the price in advance,but not the full specs.

i will admit, the pics in this post look pretty sweet!

any chance the AMP will also come with a display case like the aliens motion tracker did? the case in the sdcc pics above included with the suit would be sweet!

I am into that kind of thing but why Sideshow chose such a detailed, accurate, extensive, expensive process for this piece and not on something from movies we know and love is beyond me.

any thoughts on what the edition size will be for this piece? i think someone or some website had mentioned 2000, but at this price point that just seems too large. i would say 300-500, but would love a size of 250.

also, what exactly is the cancellation fee on the AMP for the non-flexpay option? from what i can tell, there is not a fee charged until the $240 due on November 16.

it looks like the height now for the maquette is 21 inches with a 34 inch high box.

EDIT: it looks like other websites charge the $240 when the order is placed, so i am assuming SS does too when the order is placed - not waiting until November 16.

Sideshow doesnt charge anything on it till Nov. I preordered it. I think if you cancel before nov its a $25 charge. As far as edition size, 250 would be awesome! However, having spent as much time as they have putting it together,scanning the original prop, and supposedly it being the most intricate piece sideshow has ever done-they are probably going to try to recoup the cost and make a tidy profit which means bigger edition size.

I remember the ironman bust we thought for the price would be around 500-800 edition and ended up being 1500.

When you have a property like Avatar and a rather large potential fanbase-you cant blame them for wanting to make money and capitalize on it.


All that said- 250 EDITION SIZE SIDESHOW....PAAALEEEEEEZE!!!!

Very happy to say that Sideshow has officially announced the Edition size of the AVATAR AMP Maquette is set at only 500 pieces. For the price I'm glad they set it that low rather than 1000. Adds some prestige to the piece since this is a film that will be seen by millions.

lightwave - can you tell me if you have been charged anything for this piece yet? i see the date for the non-refundable charge has been extended to jan. 15, so does that mean if i choose the full payment option, i will not be charged any fee until jan. 15 and that if i choose to cancel, i will not incur any penalty fee? i understand the flex-pay option would still have the $25 penalty fee if cancelled. thanks.

I got an email stating it had been changed to January because they still did not know the box size or weight. It is my understanding that you are not penalized until after that date in which you lose your deposit if you cancel. I dont think you are gonna want to though I only see this sucker going up. I would get two if I could.

I contacted Sideshow and they said the next Avatar products will be two premium formats they are working on. Also, 1:1 scale busts and more maquettes/dioramas
