If my calculations are correct, the figure standing infront of the suit is around 7.5-8.5 inches.
Meaning this Maquette is about 1/9-1/10 scale ... once again, I was hoping for something slightly larger.
Is this accurate?

just got my pre-order in at BBTS. thought it would be safe to get it in prior to the movie release. $100 bucks cheaper there too with shipping at $25 via ups ground.

Oh flake away! Gotcha. I heard the ironman bust had some issues with that. So far mine has been ok.
Im almost tempted to grab 2 of these to keep one and flip the other but im still not sure how well these will do. I have a feeling it will stay hovering around the $1000 in the long run.

DEPENDING ON THE FILM, I will def. be in the market for a DEFINITIVE AVATAR piece. This very well may be it. the problem is if I wait until the film is release I run the risk of the "frenzy of collectors" cleaning out the inventory before i actually get a chance to digest the film and decide if it's worth spending a $1K + on.
Is there a chance there will be:
-an AMP SUIT action pose?
-larger scale AMP Suit collectible?

Just from this trailer alone I would want to own the amp suit. There is a lot more slated for release for avatar like premium formats, maquettes, and dioramas. But I agree with your assessment that this may very well the avatar collectible. At least for now. At 500 pieces with millions going to see this film-I think its a pretty safe investment.

I have been staying away from spoilers but this one is worth watching to get pumped up in my opinion trying to appeal to the male action demographic-notice no mention of titanic.
