I put this above all the marvel films that came out this year. Yes I said it. Endgame was good and all but it wasn?t perfect and Spider-Man was a good movie but again held back by the weird supporting cast and connections to iron man.

Yes as a stand-alone film it is better than EG (and Spidey) but EG really shouldn?t be judged as a stand-alone film it?s half of a very long movie.

Joker is about equal to IW in its own way but definitely not better than IW/EG if viewed as one movie.

Okay so you do like Joker then, I wasn't totally sure, lol. :yess:

As for Joker vs. EG well if we're talking desert island movie then no contest I pick EG but if we're talking Oscars then yeah give them all to Joker, it absolutely deserves them.

I prefer IW -- masterpiece comic book movie!

Joker and Endgame are about as opposite as you can get with comic book movies. They are really bookends more than competitors. I couldn't pick which is "better".

I can say I would like to see more movies like Joker... and IW.

Nothing in Joker can touch Cap?s arc and his AA and hammer scene in EG though.

I know JP deserves an oscar he truly does but EG is quite special for me.

Yes the experience of watching EG does transcend the pure filmmaking majesty of Joker but like Wor-Gar said they really aren't in competition with each other. Definitely the best Marvel/DC year ever.

I need to see it a 2nd time.

My problems amounts to these:

1. Arthur impacted by too many external forces that is making him do bad things.

2. Joker really didn?t earn his following. 3 murders in a city that severely despondent wouldn?t really stand out and certainly not be enough to create a leader against the 1% would it.

3. Joker without his meds would be too unstable to function forget taking on Batman. Joker would just hallucinate and laugh uncontrollably if he saw Batman. Master plan requires a steady mind.

4. Movie a little slow.

5. Ending predictable.

Wasn't Arthur off his meds on the train? Wouldn't three regular guys = one Batman? I don't think Batman would last long in this Gotham. It's too "The Departed." Batman would drop Arthur, maybe even pound him to a pulp (which Arthur would be used to by now) and then Arthur might simply pull out his revolver and shoot Bruce in the face.

Joker is a great film. Endgame is a great waste of time. :p

I don?t think there was ever a train lol

Joker is the Schindler's List of Comic book movies. It's great, but really, one or two viewings is all I'll ever do.

If I had to pick one word to describe what the first 11 years of the MCU got horribly wrong especially when it needed to count the most, when it really needed to matter, that one word would be....

HULK

If I had to pick one word to describe what WB finally got incredibly right especially when it needed to count the most, when it really needed to matter, that one word would be....

JOAQUIN PHOENIX

Joaquin Phoenix answering the 23 film achievement of the MCU was like Cap somehow staying on his feet against Thanos' army, lol.

Thinking about his "unearned" followers for a minute, you know I don't know that I'd really consider any of the clown rioters to actually *be* his followers prior to the talk show. I don't think that any of them really cared who committed the train murders, it just became a bit of a symbolic meme that they identified with causing the movement to rise on its own.

If Arthur stopped any of them on the street and said he started it they'd probably say "yeah right" or at best "yeah whatever." I doubt anyone with Antifa knows who the first person was to put on a mask and start breaking things, they simply like the idea and ran with it. It wasn't until *after* Arthur blew Deniro away on live television that they finally started going, "damn, that's on a whole other level, okay yeah he's our MAN" and rallied to rescue him (or deliberately emulate him in Joe Chill's case.) So I would say that it ended up being earned in the end.

Lol at "I never believed for one second that a certified diamond like Zazie Beetz would ever have been interested in a broke ass creepy white dude," lol.

Great commentary on Arthur's deceptive resilience.

JP is pretty mesmerizing to watch.

He made the right choice going with Joker over Strange more his wheelhouse I guess but then again he probably can make anything work.

Ed Norton has now come out and said he wanted a dark and brooding Banner.

What actor doesn?t want dark and brooding.

I?m curious to see if my wife will be super bored or super riveted.

My fear is that i?m going to be super bored on 2nd viewing.

I do appreciate your analysis as I do Clown and speaking of which where is that punk lol
