After a long absence from this forum, this thread and the "wow" factor of the blus, has pulled me back in. I was in the camp of thought that it would be a wasted effort and "useless" to attempt to make these films look good much better on blu. At least enuff to shuck out the dough for them after already upgrading from vhs to dvd. I was wrong. I am glad. Here are some dvd to blu comparison shots courtesy of an online review at Classics Horror forum.

my coffin version was charged from Amazon UK a couple days ago, hope they are in the mail. Also if anyone wants a sneak peak, there is a video on youtube that shows the restoration of Dracula

Man I'm glad I ventured into this section tonight. I grabbed the Coffin Case version Amazon UK, which saved me around $47. Thanks guys! Has anyone stateside ever bought from Amazon UK before? I hope they don't package as poorly as Amazon US does sometimes.

I just got in a Region 2 House of the Long Shadows dvd from them. It arrived quickly and was packaged great. The films are available individually in the UK as well with neat packaging. Just in case you dont want them all, or are happier with plastic cases.

I'd also like to get a hold of the Spanish version of Dracula. Supposedly, it's superior. In which way, I don't know. But I'd like it as part of my collection nonetheless.

The wait may be shorter than you expect. When I ordered the House of the Long Shadows...it said it wouldnt be here until October the 4th. I have had it since Wednesday the 26th of September.

The coffin case is nicer...and cheaper. But I really like plastic cases. I am thinking of actually paying out more money for the plastic rather than the thick cardboard.

Or maybe I will come to my senses and realize its just packaging,lol.
