Good episode.

Was carol gripping the cross too much at the end causing her to bleed or has she been bit/shot?

Yea Rick is doing what he feels is right for the group while the others are power driven.

Negan - kills and threatens people so that he can feed his group.

Rick - kills people so that he can keep to his side of the deal with the Hilltop so that he can feed his group.

There's no good guys anymore, it's just a case of there is always someone more bad than yourself.

Rick would've never shot a member of the group in the leg to get away from walkers. One thing he is not is a coward.

Yeah that's the one Shane thing that is still beyond Rick. Well, Rick would do it to someone who he knew deserved it but even present Rick wouldn't have done it to a guy like Otis.

Killing doesn't make a person bad. Soldiers kill soldiers. Does that make soldiers bad people? Or does it make them survivors? So there has to be some other qualifier. Like... um.... taking away people's free wills. Dehumanizing them. Taking away.... other meaningful things. These are what set Negan apart from Rick.

Killing = bad person is far too simplistic.

Soldiers are paid to do a job, they live their life to a strict code of conduct and protect their country. It's what they sign up for.

Anyone outside this code of conduct has to be classed as a mercenary, vigilante or terrorist etc...

In the real world, maybe. (though I would say that is a narrow view, at best)

This is a broken world. Armies fight to survive. If you like, their "code of conduct" is what sets the good guys apart from the bad guys and sets the leaders apart as heroes and villains.

I guess. The Walking Dead world is just a bad place though (broken), the kill or be killed attitude is very much a way of life. To survive you have to be living/following under a 'bad' guy leader. But yeah the 'bad' guys can be 'good bad' guys like Rick or 'bad bad' guys like Negan, if that makes sense.

If Dale were still alive and found out what Glenn had done? :(

Rick's becoming more and more reckless/dangerous. But he isn't keeping heads in fish tanks or splitting them wide open with a baseball bat.
