Thanks for posting the party of the apes Jess. I didn't know about it. I just put my camcorder back in the pawn shop, but if I get paid before Sunday, I'll pull it out & video tape it & post some screen grabs...

Angel, I think the grey Caesar Statue looks awesome. Now you've intimidated me in painting mine... Please, Please PM me regarding what paints you used and an overview of how you did it....

Hasselin- - I used Citadel paints for Caesar. That grey statue I posted last week was not done. Here's a real quick indoor picture of the current Caesar statue. Can you see the brown I put in it?

I used Charadon Granite as the base coat. I then drybrushed Adeptus Battle grey very lightly over that. I then used Codex grey and drybushed that on as well. I used Devlan Mud (maybe even some black) as a wash to fill in the cracks and crevices and then mixed together some codex grey with some acrylic white paint and dry brushed even more highlights. Once all that was done I thought it was just too grey and needed a touch of brown so I used a real thin coat of devlan mud and a touch of gryphonne sepia.

There's no real formula to follow here. I would suggest you take breaks and be critical of your work. What looks good right now may not look good enough to you tomorrow. It took me about 1 week to get it to the point that I finally liked it. Here is the final grey statue with touches of brown in it.

That is so spectacular!!! I want to craft so baaaaaadly.......but I'm chugging it out at the saltmines...

Good news! No adverse reactions to Pros-Aide. One more chemical to check tomorrow, but it looks like I'm in the clear to get under the goo.

Angel it looks really great with the slight wash of the brown. How about some greens for moss? Just kidding...It looks fabulous the way it is.

Hurray for me! I finished a set of Zira Escape clothes! YAY! I only have one minor thing to tweak on it before I can send it on its merry way, so this will probably go out Thursday. I couldn't use the same blouse fabric as before. I took a few quick shots for memory's sake.

Now I only have one more Mego face to paint and I can really concentrate and finish my Zira outfit.

Hey Jess!!
If it helps to ease your workload any you can cross off the UFO uniforms for me. I was able to bash something together to suffice. When you get a chance, and catch up on your appliance work, email me to discuss the other couple of outfits I needed.
Angel, the Zaius head is great. I'm just not in the mood to go thru bidding wars to get something anymore. When you do cast up that Caesar and those other ape heads let me know though. You too Jess!!

OK Ironman. I will cross off the UFO uniforms then. That helps lighten the load a little. After Wondercon, I want to concentrate on Angel's costume and making molds of all of my sculpts so that I can start shrinking them to Mego scale. I have not gotten beyond that one mold of Milo.

Oh....incidentally, I accidentally tore off the inside of Zira's head as I was trying to force her head onto the neck ball last night when taking photos of that Escape outfit. But no biggie. I plan to completely remove what is torn and then fill up her entire head with the same molding material that I have, and then insert the neck ball until it cures. What do you guys think of that idea?

Ironman - I won't be casting anything with my own money. I'm way to tight, and these casting supplies are too expensive. I'll be using your money, if we come to some sort of agreement.

Jess - I used that same amazing material for the very same purpose! :)

My husband said that I should have just sold the other Escape outfit instead of making a new one. Actually, I don't have one for myself!!

Someday...Although I did run out of the swing jacket fabric from Goodwill and barely have any left of the plum fabric for the skirt/vest...

I would've put my $$$ on SNICK or Ironman. Good thing I didn't betcha any $$$. Congrats to you Dr. Milo, "C & Z" (Escape) are my fave 2 Sideshow figures! I know you're going to love it your collection!

Guess what guys? My paint up of Bruce Lee got the coveted spotlight award! (Not my photograph)....

Congratulations, Jessica! It's a cool figure, so why not? It's one of the best Mego customs I've ever seen, actually.
