It would take a hell of a figure to make me buy it if I don't know the reference material well, but it certainly isn't an impossibility.

Hell, what's worse - buying a figure from a movie you've never seen, or buying one from a movie you've seen and hated? I've definitely seen the latter done on here a lot.

Just because you don't like a movie doesn't mean you can't enjoy a character. Overall I thought AVPR was a weak movie, but I liked the Predator in it and got the figure. I enjoy Darth Maul far more than the Phantom Menace.

I also understand buying something for looks. As collectors, we buy things that appeal to us, we don't have to see the source movie or show, if just the looks alone appeal to us, we still want it. I was after Darth Maul products from nothing more than a few seconds of teaser trailer shots and some magazine covers.

As a collector I try to watch the movie( I mainly collect movie figs) where the figure is coming from. Sometimes I may not like the movie, but I may still think the figure is pretty cool and worth buying. I don't see that problem with that.

Now that is blasphemy. Great, great movie. Make sure you have a good sound system and it will def make the movie more awesome than it already is.

So many people have said this I am convinced I didn't give 300 the chance it deserved. I repent, mea culpa, I promise to watch the movie in full stereo sound until the very end :lecture

As for Blade... do I dare stick my head up and say I haven't seen the whole movie either? Only time I tried to watch it was back in my student days and we were having such a good time being pissed and stoned we all only kind of half watched it.

It's on my to-watch list also, but I would buy a Blade figure just because it's freakin' Wesley Snipes. Wesley!

..and oh yeah, how about that smiling Jack sculpt.

Sorry if I've gotten your hockles up. For lack of a better term my 'Fanboy" interests run very very low on the ladder.
Not a fan of Terminator, Blade, Predator. Never seen Transformers movies or GI Joe movie. I think Zack Snyder is a horrible filmmaker and I saw Batman Begins and my response was a shrug of my shoulders.
I prefer Alien to Aliens. I don't watch cartoons save for some stuff on Adult Swim and Family Guy. I find anime to be boring. I've also never cared for Wolverine ever since I was collecting comic books at 10.
Have at it.

Only part that gets my hockles(?) up is in bold^^^

"I saw Batman Begins and my response was a shrug of my shoulders"? For shame.

But I have never been into comics, although I like the idea of super heros in general. I'm more of a movie guy. And like Maul said, sometimes a certain character will just resonate with me. Best example for me is Marcus Wright. Terminator Salvation isn't a fantastic movie, but I love that character and his part of the story.

Ugh, no. I don't have the Criterion edition of Blood for Dracula and I wouldn't buy Twilight if it had a spine number much like I didn't buy The Rock, Armageddon and Curious Case of Benjamin Button because they had spine numbers. Jeez! You don't have to go after me personally just because I said I'm not a fan of vampires.

Out of curiosity, what movies do you like?

BTW Blood for Dracula is a freaking great movie. It's not meant to be all goth and stuff, it's more tongue in cheek. Have you seen it?
I don't consider myself having terrible taste in movies. You don't even know me, Friend. Don't make assumptions.

I've actually seen Blood for Dracula. But the DVD I watched had the title "Andy Warhol's Dracula" I believe. Me and my old room mate loved watching horror movies and I sent him out to get "Bram Stoker's Dracula" and he came back with the Andy Warhol version. He claims it was behind the Stoker display box, but to this day I still wonder if he was just finding an excuse to watch a porno. :lol

I have to admit I did actually enjoy it. Yes, it had tons of sex in it (it is rated "X" after all), but it also had lots of good gore, lots of blood vomiting, and even lapping at a puddle of rare "wergin" blood - spilled from wergin sex! What's not to love?! :lol

And yes, it was funny. Although it's so grotesque that I would have thought an appreciation for the genre would be required to see the humor in it.

I've been first and foremost a film buff out of all my interests(hockey, toys, judo).
My favorite films range. I can't really say "oh it's definitely this one or that one". But my favs are definitely The French Connection, A Story of Floating Weeds, Barry Lyndon, Dr. Strangelove, Magnolia, Knife in the Water, Inception, etc, etc.

You just watch those hockles of yours Mag!

You wanted 'hackles': the erectile hairs along the back of the neck of an animal, especially of a dog.

I checked hockle on one of the online dictionaries and:

hockle (plural hockles): A knob in cordage caused by twisting against the lay.

Never EVER twist against the lay Mag, you'll do yourself an injury :lecture
