Heard that the Classics line will only have Lion-O and Mum-ra and sales will depend on further characters (like these are not going to sell)

Sold!

Yep, sold either way.

IF they look like (and look good WITH) MOTUC, that is. Even if they don't sell out, I'd be happy with just Lion-o and Mum-ra.

As for the reboot, I don't get the hate... as reboots go, this looks pretty good. What did you expect? Look at all the crap redesigns GI Joe and TFs got. This is much closer in tone to what MOTU got with the 200X line, and that show was awesome, even if they did "anime" up the designs a bit.

I'm fine with this.

:slap :nana:

I was kind of hoping they weren't going to change the weapons and it looks like for the most part the TCat's arsenal is the same...except for Tygra's gun. :dunno

Did it on purpose just to piss you off...
:pfft:

No kidding, Classic style Lion-O and Mum-ra will sell out...
where did you hear this? CatsLair?

Wish it was Bandai of Japan instead of Bandai of America....
Totally agree...if Bandai has to do anything its let Bandai-J do it and let Bandai-A watch from the sidelines.
Hmmm... interesting, although I was hoping Mattel would be the one.

I also agree with this, Mattel would have knocked it out the park. I guess we wait and see now.

THIS IS WONDERFUL! Im just talking of the cartoon, not the toys, although i think ill have that sword of omens (i think it's a little short though).

Finally, an 80's classic gets resurrected.

Yup, so true..especially TF Animated and RID. I'm sure this younger Lion-O we see will mature(hair longer, bigger muscle) through out the cartoon, just glad this remake/reboot is not way off base when it comes to staying true to the original character designs.

I still think the popcultureshock Lion-O statue looks like crap too.

I like the new look of the redesign. I have come to accept the look of GI Joe Renegades because the story is actually pretty good. I hope the new Thundercats 'toon is also well written.

I don't like the "Ben10" look of the figures shown (4 inch) and I am not happy with the Classic deluxe scale (8 inch) being out of scale with the Modern deluxe scale (6 inch).

3 different scales for the same property is a bit overkill. I will proba bly jump on board with the classics line but I want to see better pictures first

You have to remember whos doing this...its Bandai America. There market isnt really collectors, its children. While sure they might try and please collectors with the Classics, there base is to get all the parents to buy there children whatever at any scale.

Personally as long as its as good as GiJoe Renegades I'll be happy. I like the simplistic flowing anime look. Hopefully the story and characters will come thru and the character design will stand on its own, again such as Renegades in my opinion.

OK so the first 2 Classic Figures are:

Lion-O AND Tygra!! :yess:

Yeah I just seen that myself over at BBTS. I really only want Mummra in the classic lines...hoping they do one. I dont care for good guys of any line. I did however pre-order the Thunder Tank to keep it on hold. Once I see more detailed photos I'll decide if its worth keeping or not.

I don't get the hate for the new design. Of course I liked MOTU 200X line much better than the classic versions.

These are cartoon, anthrpomorphic cats; they almost inevitable lend themselves to a certain cute factor. I'm guessing some people expected some sort of hardcore reboot, which was totally unrealistic.

Same here... I was so-so on the figures. Not a huge fan of the design, but at least they were well made. But the cartoon was just awful.

I like the 200X series, and sorry boys the cartoon was better than the Filmation series. Still though, nothing beats the classics.
