Did anyone catch Mon*Star in the last episode? thought it was cool. maybe will get a new Silverhawks!!! wooot!

My Tower of Omens repaint is done! Everything is painted up now. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I took some liberties from the cartoon because the sculpt isn't totally toon accurate either.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I don't think I would have bothered with it if I hadn't planned to repaint it.

Yeah, JW, you did an awesome job improving the looks on that $40 plastic turd :hi5:

JW, what type of paint did you use? Also, some of the intricate details you added seem difficult with a regular paint brush? I was wondering if you used paint markers?

Thanks!

I used a spray enamel for the base coat and then everything else was acrylic paint for models. Some of the tiny cracks are highlighted with a wash and I used natural sponges for some of the texture, but all the rest is with various sizes of brushes. It was pretty careful work but most of it could be wiped up quickly if I made a serious blunder. The only really nerve-wracking thing was the black. There was pretty much no margin for error on that.

If I'd been smart I probably SHOULD have used paint markers! :)

Thundercats finally hit Ontario, i picked up Lion-O at TRU the other day, great figure though i think the Mezco sculpt looks better.

My fear with the Classics line is that Bandai might not want to put too many resources into it...
Lion-O and Tygra shared plenty of parts, but all the other Cats are quite different...so new tooling might be required for each future release.
I really hope we see @ least all the Cats, Mumm-Ra, and the basic Mutants...
We'll see...

EDIT:

I just noticed this:

Sucks for those who bought the 8" ones, but really, we're only a few figures in the line...

Personally, I think this is GREAT! I've been contemplating getting the new figures as well, but I wanted them to look in scale with MOTUC, so this is good news for me.

I missed that... I'm hoping that's a Typo on BBTS's part.....

I just saw this on the newsletter email they sent - it's not a typo on their part:

NEW THUNDERCATS LISTINGS
Bandai America has announced many new items in the Thundercats line. We
have two new case assortments of 12 4" figures for Series 02, and they are
priced at $89.99 per case. We also have a 4" Deluxe Figure Series 02 Set
of 3, including Lion-O, Panthro and Slithe, and it is priced at $39.99.
The Classic Collector line appears to have switched to a 6" format, and
the first assortment includes Lion-O and Mumm-Ra - we have them listed as
a set of 2 for $31.99. The regular 6" Collector Series 02 line has two
different case assortments available, with each case listed at $63.99 and
including 4 figures. The 12" Armor of Omens Exoskeleton figure includes a
semi-articulated 4" figure of Lion-O within and is priced at $25.99.
Finally, the Eye of Thundera 6-Pack includes Stylized versions of Lion-O,
Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Mumm-Ra and Slithe, and is priced at $24.99.

That's no typo. :)

well poop... I wish i had known.. i JUST bought Lion-o and Tygra last week :/

I'd have waited.

Well, just count yourself lucky you were only two figures in.

Imagine if this sort of thing happened with MOTUC right now? :gah:

Worst part is? I was holding out because I thought they looked out of scale with motuc....

The 8 inch ones look Awesome with motuc figures.
