I read an article on Esquire the other day where fans came up with a way for Captain America to go out in Endgame, that was based on that alleged plot leak information on Reddit:

”We already assume time travel will be involved in Endgame based on the trailer and teasers. According to the supposed leak Cap dies fending off Thanos as the other Avengers escape. What if this scene actually takes place in 1942 after the Avengers have travelled back in time to retrieve the space stone. Here Cap "dies" defending the the Avengers from Thanos. This adds a huge emotional weight midway through the movie. Then towards the end of the movie or in a post credits scene we see a shot of Bucky at the Captain America museum from WS and on the wall is a picture of an elderly Steve with Peggy Carter and their kids and grandkids. A plaque under it reads STEVE ROGERS 1918-2011 Steve actually survived the encounter with Thanos and instead died of old age with Peggy. Yes Steve dies and it's emotional but we get to see Steve get what he really wanted all along and a good happy ending that would satisfy fans. His character arc goes full circle. He sacrifices himself but not really bc he gets what he wants.”

I personally disagree with that scenario, but it’s interesting none the less.

I might get this. So far I have the Battling Version from Civil War and the Infinity War version I'll be getting later this month after my final flex payment. I wouldn't mind this version for a cleaner looking Cap, but I'll see how the reveal pictures look and the price.

I wonder if Cap sacrifices himself in the Quantum realm or time-stream or something...it’ll be a way of him going away without killing him.

I still think Steve will give himself to the Soul well. In the comics the Soul Stone weighs the purity of the souls it takes. Certain powerful beings like Adam Warlock can communicate with the souls. So Steve will end up with Peggy 'coz he is pure in the Stone and finally get to where his heart is, and Thanos is *&^% because he is a kinslayer. IMO that's why the glove got damaged from the Snap - Thanos is not worthy and has been judged.

As far as Cap's idea of finding his true love, a big emphasis on the first Captain America movie, is when he tells Peggy about waiting for the right partner.
Peggy also repeated this to Steve in the bar scene when she was wearing the red dress.

There's a lot of jokes about Cap being gay or still a virgin cause in all of the movies, he's never really had a love life. We've only seen him kiss Black Widow and it was because of disguise, and Sharon was just a kiss. Oh and the girl that kissed Cap when Peggy walks in on them.
Even after first Avenger movie, they always still emphasize that Cap's true love is Peggy, so it wouldnt be far fetched, if in the end, he finds Peggy again through time travel, and eventually stays true to finding his one true partner.

Maybe that's why we never really see Cap seriously involved with anybody else in the other movies. Maybe marvel really wanted to stay true to what Steve said in the first avenger, and they eventually gives him his wish of finding his true partner...Peggy.

I kind of like the idea of Cap being single and that his true love was Peggy, but feels that ship has already sailed; in my mind, it sort of enables you to easier be more willing to sacrifice yourself being that you don’t have a family to go home to, but are able to sacrifice yourself for others who do. Sort of like Pietro with Hawkeye in AoU. That send off/scenario though just sort of muddles things for me and makes things a bit confusing, because Cap sort of once again becomes the man out of time, but in reverse. Since it’s his future self that goes back to 1942 and essentially gets stuck back in his true time period, wouldn’t that mean that there’s now his future self that exists there (technically 8 years older than what he would actually be in 1942), yet, still the other (younger) version of himself that is buried in the ice? LOL, I think you're just making it more complicated than what it is. I see what you're saying, its always complicated telling a story about time travel cause it always leaves holes in the story.

I guess simply put, he goes back in time, saves the team, stays back in time where he belongs.
And it woudlnt surprise me if we get to see the date they were planning before Cap crashed in the Ice in the first Cap movie.
Where she told him...to meet her at the...I believe Stork club, and she says dont be late.

It would be nice where she shows up at the club waiting for Steve, and he does finally make the date.

I think there's little doubt that Cap will reunite with Peggy. What other arc does he have that was set forth from the beginning? The whole ending of Cap 1 set up the ultimate resolution for this movie.

I've also seen TFA many many times also. Its definitely at the top of my most favorite superhero movie.
And even though I've seen it many times, sometimes, watching the movie again puts things in better perspective again. I had to watch it again after
reading that possible leak.

BTTF II, man, I need to see that movie again. I have seen BTTF 1 so many times, but I think I may have seen pt 2 and 3 only once.

Agreed. Though I think I like TWS much better (that’s probably my favorite MCU film), TFA is never a bad choice when you don’t know what else to watch. Even though I’ve seen it many times to still be able to vividly recall precisely how that ending ties in and fits, I haven’t seen it in awhile. Might have to watch it again here soon.

TFA and TWS are two of the movies I can watch over and over again and watch it all the way through.
Some of the other superhero movies, I'll watch most of the movie, but tend to fast forward on a few scenes here and there.

I sometimes pop in the bluray when I'm bored and think to myself to only watch the good parts, but when it comes to TFA and TWS, I always end up watching the whole thing.
It surprises me specially on TWS, cause most of the time, when I pop in that bluray, I just want to watch the action sequences. But everytime, I end up watching the whole thing. lol.
I guess that's a testament to how good that movie is.

Yep, same here. After seeing it a time or two already, there’s very few superhero films that I can watch again in their entirety. TFA and TWS aren’t one of those. To be honest, I could watch both of those in their entirety more than I could watch CW in it’s entirety. Not that it’s bad, I just find those two a bit more enjoyable. Even though I think CW is a better film than TFA.

I just earlier saw the trailer where he was wearing the Strike Suit and talking to Black Widow, and he looked at the picture of Peggy inside of his pocket watch. Not sure which trailer that was, but I’d never seen it until now. I’d venture to guess that little scene probably has deeper implications than simply him looking at it.

And yeah, that would work. Although I can imagine him saying something whimsical that he said to her in TFA.

Agreed. I can’t imagine them reusing the CW body. Very minimum, I think they’d at least reuse the IW one if not the concept one.
