Were any of you fellow GTA Freaks into "collecting" the indestructible and other rare vehicles that could be obtained and saved during certain missions in past games? I'm wondering if that will still be possible in the new game.

Finding ways to capture and save rare vehicles has been one of my most favorite side quests in every game since GTA III. It's one of the most challenging and ultimately rewarding features of the entire game, and that's saying a lot.

There's nothing quite like going out to start a little mayhem in a vehicle that can't be damaged, burned or blown up, especially when you've got like a zillion cops after you!

I started doing that in Liberty City Stories but got out of the habit with Vice City Stories because of the garage bug that screwed up collecting them.

ooh ooh, i did! in III & VC i collected all specials. SA only the ones w/ special traits like fireproof, all proof, ect. all proof bikes rock! no special colors or 1 time vehicles accept for the SWAT tank w/ hose. never used codes either cept for SA. there were 2 that were impossible to get w/o them. yeah, getting those was always harder than ANY mission. i remember in III taking forever to get that allproof sports car (Cheetah?) that was in the race that passed by ur hideout. had to put a bus and a garbage truck at an angle and hope it drove into ur garage. took me about 30 times lol. and then that one u had to push back to ur garage as a burnt wreck. damn thing would disappear if u moved it out of camera frame! ah good times!

That was among the most frustrating things of all in Vice City. I managed to save all kinds of vehicles by spreading them around in a handful of garages that proved to be relatively stable, and avoided "overstuffing" too many garages. I only used the glitchy car-eater garages for temporary vehicles that could be replaced.

That Cheetah in Liberty City was a real ball buster to capture and save, but I also managed it after uncountable attempts! I eventually got one, same as you, by pushing a burnt out husk into a garage, while keeping the sucker in-frame the whole time!!!

SA had a ton of great all-proof cars and the all-proof PCJ-600! Nobody could catch CJ on a bike. I kept a couple of 'em in each city for run & gun fun! Btw, did you get the all-proof Maverick helo? I used a tow truck to drag one back to the big hangar at CJ's airstrip.

I never used codes or cheats either. I just relied on luck and tried different strategies till I found a way. I sure hope the new game has lots of similar surprises in store... and plenty of big garages to save them all in this time around.

Getting the tank in III was fun as hell. I went to the top of the casino and blasted away then jumped down and stole it. I used it on the last mission and it made it pretty easy. I'm really looking forward to IV.

This game is going to be the ++++. I don't know about anyone else but I find the most fun in the game when I am just free roaming and messing around. I could really care less about the actual story, but the story is still fun!
