For anything other than cartoons, I'd entirely agree. Even moreso given that the regular series wasn't released on BR.
The combo will be nice for people who have the foot locker set. Pop the DVD into the extra tray for the sake of completion and then use the BD for viewing.

Why buy it if there's nothing extra? I've yet to be "WOWED" by any of these older cartoons digitally transferred onto BR.
If you can't tell the difference between two items of varying clarity then by all means save your money and buy the cheaper one.

I didn't say there wasn't a difference, but with the cartoon, it's negligible.

Some would have you believe so. I don't. But honestly, just pick up the BR. It comes with both the BR and regular DVD and is the same price anyway.

That's pretty much what I told every clerk after being informed they didn't have it at the store but would be more than happy to order it for me.

to me, colors look to be a wider range and not washed out, less fuzz/occasional lines on the screen (dvd carried some of this), and sound quality is really top notch (so says my surround sound system).
Regardless, both the new DVD & Blu-ray are miles better than the previous DVD release quality-wise (I mean it's not even close), with the BR obviously the best way to go.

The bluray has the original aspect ratio 1.78.1 and the DVD is fullframe only (1.33.1) so the DVD is pan & scan.
Ok, well in that case DVD = fail and Blu-ray = clear win.
