Going to watch the christmas special in about 15 minutes, can't wait....

...just finished the christmas special...SPOILERS

Loved the episode. Favorite parts were going back to see the creation of the earth and those creepy santa guys again, great stuff. kind of missed rose a little bit, didn't think I was going to, but I did. previews for the new season was great: the face of bo (that should be interesting), the surviving dalek from doomsday and many others. can't wait for the new season.

I think the Christmas special was a good bit of fun. Anyone notice that they reshot Donna's appearance into the TARDIS? I love the fact that while he did not dote on the fact Rose was gone they did make it clear she was gone and it is killing the Doctor that she's gone. The preview for series 3 was good too, esepcially when the Doctor tells Martha that she isnt replacing Rose.

Yea, I thought that part was great too....and the parallel to "Rose" when the doctor offered Donna a chance to go with him like he did Rose; then Donna said No, I really felt for the Doctor at that point. Like Madame De Pompadour said, "such a lonely, lonely child." I really like this representation of the doctor...OH, plus, the mention of gallirey was great as well.

Every time I watch it and he says "Gallifrey" I squeel like a lil girl. I actually like that RTD is slowly letting the Doctor get back to his old self and adding more of the Doctors history into the show. I just wish I knew how long David was going to stay for because I LOVE LOVE LOVE him as the Doctor. I could go on for so long about the show up to this point. I think Donna was a very good character to have on the show because it shows that not everyone is infatuated with the Doctor, and Catherine Tate was very good. But as you said congerking, my heart breaks for the Doctor. He loses everything but his TARDIS, he falls in love with Rose, loses her, and is now alone until Martha comes in and gets a reality check on Christmas when Donna says she was afraid of him and that he wouldn't stop. Just brilliant.

I registered at Gallifrey Outpost last night but I fear the discussion there because they are quite protective. And apparently we get our reveal about the Face of Boe this season becasue he said " We will meet again, for a third and final time" or something alone those lines. I can't wait to see what his secret is.

You should post over there, posters know more doctor trivia and knowledge that I do. And I can't wait to find out what the face of boe's secret is. What people think it is, highlight to read That the face of boe knows about the doctor's son

I really hope the message isnt about his son (harsh as that sounds). The rumors I've heard is that it has to do with a monument to the Time War on a distant planet and on the monument someone graffitied "You are not alone." That could open it to many possiblities, such as Gallifrey somehow wasn't destroyed, or the Rani is back, or the Master. RTD does go back on his word alot.. so ya never know.

I like that idea. The TARDIS gets pulled to a distant planet that has that monument on it, that would be interesting.....

I would be interested to see the monument too. An inscription along the lines of "Dedicated to the lone survivor of the Time War." and then beneath it, "You are not alone." The meaning are endless though and it doesn't actually mean the Time Lords survived. We know he was not alone because of the Daleks. Something more interesting for the Face of Boe's message would be something like "You can restart it." or something hinting to the fact that somehow he can begin the Time Lord race anew. Actually I reallly want it to be a way to bring Rose back but I am pretty sure she is gone for good.

I didn't watch the original series of Who, but to be honest always thought the whole "last of the Timelords" thing was gonna be a bluff. Like when there was only one chosen to be the slayer in Buffy etc.

Those rules are made to be broken and I think it'll be an interesting place to take the series. It creates great character drama. First we see how lonely it makes the Doctor being the "last one" and once they've mined that for all it's worth, we move on and see his shock when he uncovers it is actually true and there are others out there.

I think sooner or later RTD will bring back all of the great villains from the original show, Davros and the Master included.

Actually I think Davros died of some sort of disease. The Master has used all of his regenerations and was killed in the tv movie, but somehow he survived that (its been forever since I saw it) and so he could come back. I would love to see the Rani though. This season will be full of changes though and I cannot wait to see how the Doctor handles everything.

Very bad news!!.........& possibly good news

I hate you karma, that's terrible news. I think that robert carlyle would make a VERY interesting doctor......

I wouldn't put too much stock in a story by the Sun where there's no official comment to confirm it's true.

As a British tabloid they specialise in rumour and bull****, they announced last year that the Doc's new sidekick after Billie left was going to be played by Holly Valance.

No other British newspapers have reported on this to my knowledge, so I'd be skeptical until I heard more.

Jabba took the words right out of my mouth. Until something officially comes from the BBC or a source that ISNT the Sun, David is my Doctor indefininately. And in all honesty, I hope they keep it a super super tight secret and not say anything until after the episode airs so we can all be suprised by the next regeneration since the first of the new series was spoiled.

So was a regeneration scene from Chris to David actually filmed?

Edit: Nevermind.. Just did a youtube search. Pretty cool.

Actually a little history on that scene. Apparently David's scene as the Doctor were filmed with just him by himself on the TARDIS set. Billie Pipper was just looking into thin air for the reaction shots of her. Also, in Christmas Invasion, apparently every outfit the Doctor ever wore is present on the set when the Doctor chooses his brown pin-stripped suit.

Oo. If someone were able to get a screen grab of that, I would be most thankful. :D

:rotfl :rotfl I had wondered about the wardrobe when they showed Tennant looking for some clothes. I sure hope that the Sun's article is a bunch of hot air. I didnt' want chris eccelston to leave, but then tennant turned out great. Now I don't want tennant to leave....
