Well, since Daniel Choe (Sunohc) is doing a Reign of Fire Van Zan head for an IKE-CON figure release, I wanted to pick up another
one of his heads to get an up close and personal look at the quality levels. So I picked up
one of his Book of Eli Denzel heads. Here it is painted by John (Boot25).

He's really getting better with every sculpt. Highly detailed and very good likeness. The only things that the painters
notice are with the symmetry issues in the eye area. Similar to his Tyler Durden head, the right eye is turned inward a bit.
Other than that, he's seems to be nailing the likeness spot on. John is painting the eyes again on the Eli head looking slightly
to the side, so the symmetry doesn't look off. Either way, just looking at the sculpt close up, you can really see a high
detail level, so we're excited for the Van Zan prospects. Also, it made me decide to make a Book Of Eli Custom with
Daniels head. I hope to give it the super high detail and movie accurate look, that Daniel brings to his sculpts.

Here's what I got so far. Let me know what you think.

I'm still working on the final outfit and backpack, but it's coming along fast.
I am also going to shape the Machete blade some more, to give it that blade edge
that it's missing and repaint it. Right now, the clear coat made it look like it's made of stone.

I'll update with more pictures as I finish it.

Good luck with the Eli figure, can't wait to see it finished.

I would love to see a book of Eli prequel where they show the back end story to Eli's journey. Book of Eli Tv series would work too. Anyone know what kind of following the film has? May just have a cult following. Did it make a lot of money?

very cool paint up and custom items set up,

thanks for the critique on the eyes, i'll definitely have to look out for that in my future sculpts!

Looks great so far! I loved B.O.E., and can't wait to see the finished figure. Keep us updated.
Thanks.

Here's some new pictures below. Outfit coming along nicely.

It's hard to improve what your doing now. But little things that more
than one person notices, I figure, I might as well mention as you start doing new sculpts. You're doing an awesome job on them on your road to perfection..:yess:

Here's a shot of the outfit with Denzel's real head, next to the real thing. Then some pictures of just the outfit.

Keep in mind, this is before any weathering, but I think you get the idea.
Also, as soon as I get the HT AA hands I ordered, I will be making
the green nit style fingerless gloves.

More to come.....

That looks wonderful! :clap

The paint job by Boot is superb as always, and the outfit bash is first rate

Looking forward to seeing this complete :)

Lookin' good! Seb is working on an Eli custom for me and it looks fantastic, can't wait to get my hands on it :yess: Adding that leather patchwork to the bottom corner of the backpack was a nice touch :clap

Looking good. One thing the machete is actually not in the backpack.
It's hold with a straps on his back of his vest

Yeah, I have some brown leather scrap that I will make the machete
sheath with, just have not done it yet.

thats super cool man i dont know how you guys do stuff like that

Years of tear down and rebuild practice along with a side of research...:rotfl

Still not done with that backpack..:) Got some pictures of it from
almost all angles. Will try my best to get it close to film accurate.

Thanks. Can't wait to get the head back from John and
finish this guy up.

nice figure where the sawn off shotgun from?

I customized a shotgun from this set.

ULTIMATE SOLDIER 1/6 MODERN POLICE SHOTGUN WEAPONS SET

shotgunset.jpg

I used the second one from the top. Only because I didn't have
the top one anymore or else I would have used that.

I used my dremel to shorten barrel. Then shortened & shaped stock.
Then took it apart, painted it, put it back together and added stock wrap
along with some slight weathering...:)

Thanks again. Though I like the movie, the character is much better
than the actual movie as a whole. Though I tend to look at films
from a different point of view than most. I did find the cinematography
to be wonderfully dark.

:lecture I won't get into the implications
it suggest and why I don't care for that aspect of it.
I don't want to offend anyone's sensibilities on faith or lack there of.

On the figures; One Sixth Global (my small company) is my only source of income,
so I try my best to be on top of my game...:) I make the figures how I would want them made for me.
So I spend a lot of time on the small details, trying to make them as accurate
as possible by teaming up with some of the best artists & clothes
makers I can.

Plus feedback from forum members helps keep me on my toes.

Wow, congrats :clap:clap
that looks really great, can´t wait to see the finish figure!!:)

Saw the movie and I like it much, DW is a great actor:peace

Is this a keeper then or will you be selling it :monkey3

As much as I like to keep it (because sculpt no longer available),
I have to sell him when he's finished. Next time I'll get more sculpts..:lol

It's just a fact of what I do, I just can't keep everything and
make a living at the same time. :(

Wow, congrats :clap:clap

Thanks. I hope to have him finished by the end of the week.
Just waiting on head to come back from painter.
