You can make an account at FedEx. It seems to cut down on the cost of the duty fees. I get a bill a few weeks after delivery.

We're in Abby, BC, I tend to get 1 or 2 a year from them, and they can really nail you with fees which is why we can only get 1 or 2 max a year. Ours always comes by Purolator, they knock, we pay them right then and there, and we get the figure(s) and it runs us, in ADDITIONAL fees just under $100 for the average Hot Toys 6th scale from Sideshow. I posted earlier in the thread how much the Banner/Hulk two-pack ran us....it was obscene. Funny thing is when we ordered Maleficent and couldn't get it out here, they didn't ship out here for that, we sent it to my Mother which only ran us $20 to NY, and she shipped it to us which we got ZERO additional fees, so go figure there.

Aaaand we got our "it's coming so be ready to pay up" email too!!! We have mine and my wife's coming that she won't even open the shipping box on. Me? I need to open that toy and play with it, I don't care how old I get, IT'S A MOVIE DEADPOOL FIGURE! LOL
Soon this will be all behind us and we'll all be enjoying our eagerly awaited figures and it'll all be worth it. I do agree that I wish people didn't jump the gun and stick it out and wait and see like some of us posted, but nothing we can do, their choice, their money.

**** I hope it isn't $100 import at the door.

She keeps them in the shippers?.. What's the point of buying it? Unless it's an "investment".

OK, I'm giddy since this is my first purchase through SSC.

Now, the question is, can any Canadians share their experience in terms of what to expect when the delivery (FedEx?) comes by? Duties? Taxes? Payment at time of delivery?

The last item I ordered directly from Sideshow was The Avengers Black Widow. It cost me $30 in fees on delivery and the box had a dent in it plus all the packing labels. I currently have it on Kijiji for sale now that I have a pristine one. I don't know what the cost at the door is now as I use a Sideshow distributor and he eats part of the cost plus I get pristine shipper boxes if the figures come with them. He also deals with Sideshow directly if returns are needed. No fuss and no headaches just the way I like getting my Sideshow items. He just let me know that my Deadpool will be here in two weeks. I made him aware of the wrist issue as he is mainly a statue collector himself and does not follow the 1/6th drama. This way he has a heads up to prepare for possible customer concerns when it comes to the Deadpool wrists. Have fun collecting.

Thanks! Would you be willing to share your distributor's information?

what the heck. this site has HT Deadpool icon on the banner, but it leads to the sideshow statue. some sort of sales tactic??

^ I can only assume because the HT version is sold out its redirecting to the next best thing? You'd think they would redirect to the SSC version of Deadpool.

I can't help staring at Deadpool every time I walk past my cabinet, he's now the centre piece of my collection. I need to find time to get some decent photos. Here's a naff phone pic for now.

Yeah, I need more shelf space and somewhere else to put my Figuarts!

Oh and I have one more payment to make on Ultron :)

Not trying to stir up any more paranoia or hate on this figure just thought I would post an update on what I have gotten from Sideshow. To recap my figure came in with what I would call a damaged wrist. The pics were posted a while back but basically the fabric was so short on one of the arms that it would not remain tucked under the peg. I asked for a replacement and was told that the figure I had is the way the figure is supposed to be. I persisted that I would like a replacement as most of the people I see on this forum are getting "fixed" figures. The latest reply I got from sideshow is as follows:

I would like to assure you that your item is from the shipment, where Hot Toys has corrected the gauntlet/cuff hem issue. Upon collector feedback on the first wave of this release, Hot Toys altered the shape of Deadpool's gauntlets to create a wider opening to avoid any unnecessary friction between the switch out hand accessories and the costume's cuff edge. Edge seaming is expected to have some variances as the costumes were individually sewn.

I have taken a picture of the wrist area of a sample that we had opened in-house. If you feel that this sample is significantly better than what you have in hand, then we can pursue an exchange. If you feel as if it is not a significant improvement, then you can choose to keep the item with a $20 credit, for any inconvenience that this process may have created, or you may choose a full refund of your item.

The attached pictures will show how the seam of sleeve of our sample looks and the movement of the cuff edge when the arm is bent. As with any sixth scale figure, once the figure is positioned you will need to adjust clothing including sleeves and cuffs at the wrist. Since our sample's cuff movement was similar and the hem seaming was also to your pictures, we felt like an exchange wouldn't be an improvement. This is why I originally suggested a full return if you were dissatisfied with what you had.

This picture helps to show that when the elbow of our sample is bent the fabric may slightly pull back, making it appear as you have reported. This circled area is also a completely normal view of this circumstance.

You can gently tug his sleeve back down towards the wrist peg, as I have done
here and it will appear as it does below in the circled area. Once this gauntlet is fitted onto his wrist peg, the sleeve will then simply fit under the gauntlet as intended.

Please let me know which option you would like to pursue prior to November 17th, so we can help you as quickly as possible.

I appreciate your patience and understanding while we work together towards a resolution for this issue!

In conclusion, I will not be pursue a replacement as it seems I would possibly get another figure that is the same as the one that I already have. I am just going to stick with what I have because I really do love the figure as a whole despite the flaw. I personally feel that despite my slight disappointment I would be more disappointed if I did not have this figure in my collection at all.
