The Hot Toys Darth Vader with the light up saber uses a separate arm with the saber permanently attached to the hand. The batteries go in the arm. With a lot of modding I guess you could use the saber if you remove it from the hand and make a battery box. Your best bet would be to contact...

You could but make sure the oil is safe for plastic. I have a plastic safe oil but I forget what brand it is. I just looked for it but can't find it. I looked it up and it is Labelle 108 oil and is safe for plastic and painted surfaces.

You could make one out of a piece of wire (paper clip) and some other bits. Painted up it might look better then the original one. Just for fun I think I'll try that.
