RATE or REVIEW The Last Movie You Watched.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched. The Human Centipede II: Full Sequence 7.5/10 Gross, explicit, mean and insane, this movie is pretty much everything you heard the first THC was. I wish the story hung together a bit better, but it's Tom Six is definitely up to something interesting. He's...

(FLOSI'S Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Re: (FLOSI'S Cantina) aka Where the "cool guys" of the Star Wars forum hangout... I'm sure that FLOSI loves the idea of us using his namesake thread to discuss boring RL matters that are in no way related to any galaxies far, far away. I haven't seen the latest revision of Jedi yet, but I...

(FLOSI'S Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Re: (FLOSI'S Cantina) aka Where the "cool guys" of the Star Wars forum hangout... True this. A recent viewing of ANH has confirmed for me that Jedi was definitely hit the hardest by all the SE silliness. Say what you will about things like Greedo shooting (not really first at this point) and...

The Dark Knight Rises ***USE SPOILER TAGS***

Re: The Dark Knight Rises I have to say, I’m a little surprised at the positive reactions to the Catwoman pics. To me, the design is both goofy and at odds with the world Nolan has established. He’s gone out of his way to make things as plausible as possible. This isn’t a direction I...

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched. Drive: 10/10 Best 70's crime movie of the year. Every shot in the movie is impeccably framed. Plus, Albert Brooks!

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched. Don't be Afraid of the Dark: 9/10 Fell pretty hard for this movie. Funny, creepy and even scary in a couple places. The creatures are goofy in a cool 80's kinda way. In fact, if this came out in 1984, it would've been rated PG and become a pay-cable staple.

    Star Wars On Blu-Ray

Just finished watching TPM. To my (admittedly pretty poor) eyes, the movie looked better than it's looked since I saw it in the theater. Seen some reviews suggesting that the DNR cleaning is problematic, but I didn't notice too much loss of detail. I will say that the small bits that were filmed...

    All Things ANIME

I remember renting the Streamline Pictures version of the movie from Blockbuster back when I was first getting into anime in the early 90's. At the time, I couldn't get into the character designs and nonsensical plot. Since then, I've seen the error of my ways. In fact, I've been enjoying the...

    All Things ANIME

Any Fist of the North Star fans here? It may be dated, cheesy and poorly paced, but there's something super satisfying about dudes punching each other until they explode.

    Man of Steel (SPOILERS)

Re: The Man of Steel I'm not in love (read: I kind of hate) the new Jim Lee Superman design that they're using in MoS. Still, a compelling story can go a long way. If Snyder can bring his usual flair for visuals and action to this film, I can get past the rubber and lack of red undies. I'm...

RATE or REVIEW The Last Movie You Watched.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched. I know I'm new around here, but you absolutely blew my mind with this one. I'm pretty into westerns as a whole, and I'd give C&A a 6 on a good day. It's aimiably average in just about every department. The problem is that the Cowboys parts are so much...

RATE or REVIEW The Last Movie You Watched.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched. Final Destination 5 is probably a 5 on the scale of actual movies, but it's an easy 8 on the Final Destination scale. I don't know if any of you dudes enjoy the series either ironically or earnerstly, but part 5 is easily the best entry since the second...

    Alphas on Syfy

Believe the hype, my fellow nerdos. This SyFy original is actually pretty darn good. It's not revolutionary or anything, but it's a good example of how to do superheroes on a TV budget. It reminds me of a more down-to-earth version of the X-Men. In any event, it's a hell of a lot better than...
