Got one at Best Buy today, it’s pretty nice. Definitely a good size. It’s plastic so that is what it is, but overall it’s good quality for $100.

How accurate is this to the movie version? I'm thinking of picking this up tomorrow.

Is there an on/off switch on this thing? I wish there was a way to at least to turn the sound off but have the lights still activated.

If you press and hold the large gem down for a few seconds it will turn on, make the initial sounds, and then the lights will stay lit for an hour or so.

Some of the sound effects remind me of something from the Transformers movie...which I love by the way, but it throws my brain off. :lol

Threw a stand together using the same cheapo paper towel holders I use for helmets. Added a sink pipe + cap for the chrome look. Wrapped foam around the top and it doesn't even budge. Just gotta sand and paint the wood base.

Someone over on The RPF just repainted this thing and I gotta say, it looks fantastic.

Sorely tempted to pick this up. Looks pretty cool in the display photos, and that repaint shows the potential of the thing, and the level of care that's gone into the sculpt hidden underneath the plasticy finish.

(No way I'm able to justify nearly £1000 for the Hot Toys version - and frankly as a static lump of polyurethane I'm not sure it justifies itself, even at half, or a quarter of that huge price tag. But I'm well aware as a figure collector, not a prop replica collector, I'm not the target audience! I dunno... If it was say an actual metal gauntlet, with articulated fingers... maybe it'd have been contemplated... But even then. The Doctor Who nerd in me starts thinking about how that'd be a significant chunk towards a life-sized Dalek tbh once we reach those kinds of prices)

Ahem, anyhow UK pricings I've found seem firmly at £99 at the moment - which is far more reasonable than the large mark-ups the Hasbro Legends line often gets lumped with over here. Makes it even more likely I'll cave.
