God I hate her reviews. She talks just like a studio executive. The worst kind of executive. Praising certain decisions because they make good business sense or are marketable, completely ignoring the artistic merit of them. Yea Grace, its great that this film has exactly the same amount of boy main characters as girl main characters. Why does that matter?

Shes a genuine comic lover which is good, but also praises piles of poorly plotted and characterized crap just because it lifted a few moments from those comics. As she puts it "checked the boxes". Sorry movie, I don't care if a film contained a moment from the comic if I don't care at all about the path we took to get there.

She'd fit right in as the exec of a film studio today. Sharing their very misguided views of quality.

All of that buildup for nothing. What a waste. He could’ve basically been Evil Yoda, but now he’s little more than a footnote. So we learned nothing about who he was, what he wanted, why he was a Sith lord (presumably). He was set up as a main antagonist, he was played by Serkis
All that for absolutely no payoff. Just dies... It's like they think it's more SHOCKING if he dies and the audience wants TWISTS.

Just saw it.
Lots of unexpected turns.
Some moving and cool moments.
Humor was nice.
But meh and some wtf.
My biggest gripe is again the poor use of the force.
Poor luke... Seriously that's the best they could do.
Well at least the next one is basically starting fresh... With JJ Abrams... Yay.
I prefer Rogue One over this.

I for one am very thankful for the spoilers. They confirmed all my suspicions that I've had from day one. There is no plan. There is no back story. There is no arc. They are literally throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks, all in an attempt to make the hip happening new kids seem cool an sweep the history of the franchise under the rug.

Phasma was awesome again.
I liked Hux much more.
Rose was cool.

Poe's X-wing seems to be able to do everything and run on resistors.
The AT-AT's are ugly but won't be stopped by tow cables now... hmmm what did they originally tow anyway?
And my dreadnaughts are still Katana fleet.

R2's message was nice.
Rebels had lots of suicide bombers.
Dr Strange!

Hot Toys figures I'd want are Ackbar, the Mormon fish people and maybe Phasma.

Of the nine, it ranks 7th.

Since they're just costumes and not actual people, I imagine they just keep them around as set dressing. I mean maybe Anthony Daniels is still crammed in that suit but he sure doesn't need to be. Chewie is CGI now.

True that TeeKay. I agree. That was my only serious critique.

Excessive humor. I feel like they were funny ideas but shouldn't have made the final cut. Perhaps an extra deleted outtakes reel or something in the bluray special edition or something. But that was the only thing I felt myself cringing at. Sometimes it felt right, I mean R2 and Threepio were comedic relief in that past films... but they didn't pop up in really serious moments, like when Luke found out who his dad really is to say something or do something comical. I can live with it, but it would've been better movie if they dialed it down. In the theater it worked really well for reactions, but when it comes out on dvd they should remove it.

Rey and Ben’s relationship makes more sense in here than it did in TFA, and I like the character development on Ben /Kylo here. Some nice surprises!

Wow finding seats for this is not nearly as hard as I expected.... any way , do I do IMAX 3d with no assigned comfy seats. Or do I do comfy assigned seats no IMAX or 3d. I found the 3d in force awakens to be great , probably one of the best blue rays I own
