Love her! Can't wait for someone with a real camera to give you guys some great close-ups.

Sorry to hear about your wife Colossus...as was mentioned before, ****k cancer. I don't know you as many others here seem to, but that's nothing but tragic. I'm happy to hear you're cancer free though and continuing to fight the good fight.

Red Sonja arrived for me today, and I had to wait all day to open her, as she arrived at 4pm and I was at work until 1am...so I got home and basically tore into the box. While I know pictures had been posted, I actually avoided them. I even avoided the production pictures shots, aside from a quick scan to know that they turned out well, so my main hope was that she wasn't scratched or anything, as having that much smooth skin showing can just be asking for trouble if something taps it.

I'd love to do a video on her, but I don't believe I'll be able to in any amount of time that'll matter to most. I WILL say that Col, your order after the pictures were posted was smart, as I believe that this is one of the finest statues Sideshow has done. Absolutely STUNNING!!

I'm not one to overhype things. I have when things are overhyped because then they just have a better chance of letting you down, but the details in the base...the skin, the armor, boots and gloves...all gorgeous. I mean, you've seen the pictures posted on previous pages...those do more than my words in terms of showing just how great it is, but in person, it's just that much better.

They NAILED the face, which was something I was worried about. Always have to worry, even though they've nailed a lot of their more recent deliveries (Batgirl, Machiko, etc...) and this one is cream of the crop.

If you've been on the fence and are debating, debate no longer and just order. It's worth the money, and is just so stunning. The base is MASSIVE. The snake looks like a monstrous snake, and the guts and intestines are so well done, shaded, bloody...the tongue is blue where it's losing blood from her stepping on it, the fangs are massive, the blood spatter is fantastic, the curves of her skin are spectacular...I really can't say enough about it.

Her hair is flowing and just superbly painted. It's shaded and it feels like they painted each strand individually...of course that's silly, but that's the amount of detail I see in it.

You can put production pictures next to promo pictures and compare all you like, but when I ordered, this is exactly the statue I prayed would arrive. If you wanted the production piece, you'll never be happy...I'd say this is exceptionally done for mass production...it's a piece that I KNOW will blow me away every time I walk into the room. Those are the pieces I aim to collect, and this is top tier. Just looking at it as I type this, trying to express how it looks has me ogling it. And I mean, sure she's sexy and all that, but above all that, and pretty much all I notice is how much of a badass she is. Half naked? Hell, three-quarters naked? For sure she is...but when that's not even what you notice when you look at the piece, you know they did everything right.

Absolutely blown away. My hats off to Sideshow on all fronts for this piece...they knocked it out of the park and won the championship with it. Just phenomenal.

I don't have a beard, and I'm not Wolverine, but this pretty much sums up how I looked when I finished putting her together and gazed upon her in full for the first time...and every time since:

On a side note, the EX is MASSIVE! That axe is gloriously huge. I thought it was rather silly, and those who missed out are more than fine with the double sword look...but I'll be damned if I don't love that damn axe in her hand. I didn't think I would, but when I put it on:

Nice review. Think the Ex won't last long now. Many, myself included, were waiting for inhand pictures.

Thinking I'll be adding gloss the the snakes internal parts, not sure if the scales would benifit from a gloss coat?

The scales should have a satin finish.

Next question: What is the part breakdown and what difficulty do we see when trying to repaint one?

Thanks GB, Appreciate the Sentiments, I am taking better care of myself and getting back into it

Be Cool

The more I see this beauty, the more I think this is Sideshow's Best Female Statue to date.

Remind me which other Sideshow's Female Statue better than this.

She Hulk PF?
Ms. Marvel PF?
Darth Talon PF?

I used to own She Hulk and Ms. Marvel, to me this one is MUCH better.

Harbottle knows how to sculpt a hot woman. Check out his work at Gentle Giant. I'm surprised in the year since this was announced I haven't seen his name on another SS release

He's done Batman The Dark Knight & Voltron and a couple of others I can't think of at the moment..

Can somebody take a close-up picture of her face? I am interested to see how the eye looks....

Obviously you'll have no choice but to wait to get it in-hand before making changes, but I think the internal parts may already have a gloss to them. There's one that sits beside the tongue that looks great. Slick, shaded nicely, and it looks like it fell out of the snake. Again, I don't touch up my statues, so I'm not sure what you're looking to add to it, but hopefully what you're thinking is already done to save you some time/money!

I personally like the scales as they are...and I mean, this is a HUGE base. Even with that warning you'll likely take it out and go, "Wow, that's a big snake." (that's what she said.) :lol So I'm not sure if having it all glossed would help it or not. It'd likely come down to personal taste, but I think they work the way they are. Hopefully they'll ship yours out soon and you can see for yourself!

The scales should have a satin finish.

Next question: What is the part breakdown and what difficulty do we see when trying to repaint one?

The part breakdown off the top of my head is:

1) Snake base (both halves are bound to the base, as are the innards.)
2) Red Sonja's full body.
3) Red Sonja's head/shoulders are one piece.
4) 1 hand with sword.
5) 1 hand with sword.
6) 1 hand with giant axe (if you get the EX)
7) Small rock formation (couple of inches, if that) that attaches to where some innards drop near the tongue.
8) Larger rock formation that attaches (magnets) tot he back of the base, to make it look as though the snake body is laying on rocks.
9) Snake's tongue. This is attached before you put Sonja on the base. It's the part she's stepping on.
10) Small dagger that attaches to Red Sonja's leg.

I'm pretty sure that does it for the parts. As for the difficulty in a repaint...I mean, her body is likely not too bad, as it's mainly skin. I've never done repaints, nor looked into them, but the base has a lot of detail with the snake scales, innards, bones, rock. It's probably something someone could have some fun redoing if they wanted, but there's a hefty amount of things with this piece.

I'm not at home, otherwise I'd take a terrible phone pic for ya :lol But I can say the face is fantastic. No wonky eyes at all...extremely well done. She's got life in her face, which is something that can easily get lost in the production phase of statues.
