The Killing Joke animated film

The sex scene isn't bad on itself, and there's nothing actually wrong with it, it's not "reductive" or whatever the SJW are making it out to be.

"muh strong female hero has the hots for a dominant male waaah".

What's wrong with it is that it's attached to TKJ, who the **** thought it was a good idea? I can see the Batgirl movie being something on its own and it wouldn't be half bad, but there's an immense disparity in writing and concept quality between the actual TKJ parts and the Batgirl parts, the batgirl stuff is terribly outclassed by TKJ material, even in this poor adaptation of it, not to mention completely unrelated themes and unnecessary backstory, which when mashed up together, create a foul tasting garbage plate.

I have to reiterate that I haven't seen this yet, so maybe it will play different than it reads, but the sex scene seems a really odd choice to me. Not because I think it's sexist or whatever SJWs are going on about, but it just seems like a relationship that wouldn't have occurred between Bruce and Barbara. I guess from the comics I've always felt like Bruce had an almost-paternal relationship with Barbara. I guess maybe because of her romantic relationship with Nightwing. I don't know.
Having said that, maybe I'll have a somewhat different opinion after I watch it. As different as it sounds, I could definitely see it being a possibility that the prologue part might have at least partly worked on its own. It sounds like it plays like it's its own thing, anyway. I'm surprised they haven't done an animated Batgirl movie yet, actually. I know she has a very vocal fan base. I just think it's silly that some of them get so upset over how her character is used in "The Killing Joke." I guess the argument could be made that if The Killing Joke had never happened, there probably would never have been all those years worth of good Oracle stories.

I had High expectations after the flawless "Dark Knight Returns" film, then lowered them when Timm said that they "embellished" the novel. Having seen this last night, it is exactly what I feared it would be, a total perversion of {IMO} the greatest GN ever created.

Bruce Timm forced his version of the Beyond Bats/Batgirl affair into this, seemingly making it part of the story when the whole point of Barbara's shooting had nothing to do with it, jeez I really expected a Harley Quinn cameo.

In my opinion, Hamil's Joker was the wrong voice for this. half was done in classic animated style and the other half was like Costner trying to do a British accent In Prince Of Thieves. The best part of this, oddly, was Harvey Bullock.

So long DC. Not another dime from me, ever.

They're overexposed and overrated by the fan base, i.e. smelly man babies.

I wouldn't care if they never do voice work for Batman or the Joker ever again. We've seen their "range" and I've gotten my fill of them between the various shows, movies, and games over the past 24 years. They got their Killing Joke movie, albeit a crappy one, the end.

I prefer John DiMaggio's Joker voice, even though his laugh is weak.

Also liked TDKR Joker very much. I even like Peter Weller's voice for old Batman a bit more than Conroy.

Everything I feared would happen as a result of Bruce Timm, Hamill, and Conroy being involved in this project came true...but hey, millennials want more BTAS.
