We won't know until the official announcement. Either they canned the new head sculpt they were working on or the reuse of Part 1 here is just a placeholder.

They didn't can it, it's just a placeholder. They did the same thing with other figures as well, with BVS Superman being the most recent I can remember. Relax folks. Lol.

Glad to see that Hot Toys seemingly has the Nike license for the new Marty. It'd be cool if they included a pair of the red Bruins shoes as alternates.

With that cap being included, im afraid the hair on the new sculpt will look weird and narrow like the first head just to make it fit without looking goofy.

How do you come to that conclusion? They already released one version of Marty so he's clearly given the okay before. It could be that they're tweaking something before the final reveal. There may be an interchangeable hair piece or something so he can wear the hat.

I want to use this to make his Alt 1985 look that he sported most of the film, but I'm afraid the arm joints will look off putting exposed. I wish HT would design a seamless true type for the tiny and scrawny male form

He appeared pretty ecstatic about the BttF Marty figure when he was talking about it on Jimmy Kimmel when it released and as others have mentioned, the likeness on the BttF II sculpt that was teased awhile back looks to be an even better likeness than the BttF one. The only thing he seems to request on Marty figures is that they don't give him the crotch grabber stand that rides up his arse.
