Fixed.

"RubberCop 2014" isn't a RoboCop film. :dunno

We're going to have to agree to disagree here, because those Prime Directives TV movies are one of the most painful things I've ever sat through.

I liked Dredd.... But it is easy to see why people call it a rip off of The Raid... It basically is...

Rip off or not The Raid is far better though.... IMO

It's apparently the other way round. Dredd's script had been floating around unproduced for a few years and The Raid was written after that fact. It had the good fortune of being released first though.

It was on Netflix for a little bit
That must have been during the time when I suspended my account. Maybe it'll pop up again in the future.

So the new RoboCop, I still haven't watched it. Is it worth a watch or should I skip it? I mean, is it at least a good action movie?

It has good action.
That it does. Good cgi too. Don't let these guys fool you. It might be bad as a remake, it might not be as gritty as the first.
But the action is pretty solid.
The training scene of Robocop was really good. Very slick scene

OK, watching it now.

Robocop>Robocop 2>Remakecop>Robocop 3>TV series>a freshly-minted turd>Prime Directives TV specials

Robocop 2 is a hugely underrated movie in my book. I actually love how mean-spirited and tragicomic it is, and especially the sledgehammer-blunt satire of political correctness throughout.

"This could look bad for OCP Johnson - scramble the best spin team we have."

Robocop 1 and 2 are probably the best satire of society that I've ever seen in film. I can watch RC2, but something is off about it that I can't enjoy not nearly as much as RC1.

As for Rubbercop. I didn't hate it at all, but I felt nothing for the film. I'd say it's better than most of the same recycled diarrhea coming out of Hollywood at least.

Yeah, this movie was a mess. I don't know how they got Oldman, Jackson, and Keaton in this flick because the dialogue was terrible and there were some really stupid plot holes. They must have committed to the film before reading the script. The violence was pretty tame, even for PG-13. X-Men DOFP looks rated R compared to this movie. It wreaks of studio nonsense.

The lead actor was good though. I want to see what he does in Suicide Squad now. The actress that played Murphy's wife was awful. She had no emotional range at all.

This could have been a cool movie if the studio had the guts to make it a completely original film. Instead they tried to capitalize on well known property without living up to what made the original so great.

Story in "Meltdown" is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than anything from R3. And I'm not sayin' it's a good film overall but I'd rather watch a MFTV film based on good story than Hollywood's adaptation of a terrible script.

"Resurrection" and "Crash and Burn" were ruined by the stupid bio-tech virus plot so I will not defend them.
The main plot was still solid tho.

The "action" is very vanilla and plays out like every video game.
Vanilla, yes. They actually failed at the video game aspect because it was so vanilla. The games I play get my pulse racing and this never got me to that point. Even when he was tearing the robots apart I felt like they could've made that alot more violent.

I didn't love Rubbercop, but I didn't hate it either. It kinda was it's own little thing and I'm glad I saw it. At least it didn't try to say the original movie didn't exist and have Rubbercop beat up the original or have an evil app trying to take over the world. Y'know, like that other movie..
