Just opened the replacement. Looks pretty good on a first quick check (I'm at work!). I do believe the teeth on this one are better painted, for some reason. Either way, I won't relax until it gets home on the shelf, where I can give it a thorough check! But for now I'm relieved! :)

Giving it a good check revealed a flaw, unfortunately, the left tube appears to have a slight break, revealing the metal wire inside:

However, I feel this is too minor a flaw to justify another return, and perhaps another potential defect. So I'm sticking with this one! What would be the best way to repair this? Perhaps a little black paint over the break?

Looks like two breaks. I don't think there is a wire rod in that part (maybe at the very tips) Mine broke when I was moving it also but I just squeezed it together and glued it, can't tell there was ever a problem now. Try pushing it together, should be an easy fix.

Yeah, the second one where the tube meets the jaw isn't exactly a break, more like a 'loose connection'. It only shows up with a camera flash. There is a very thin wire inside the tube, its the white line where the break is on my pic. On one hand I want to try my hand at fixing this, on the other I don't want to make it worse. Either way, you have to look for it so I don't mind it that much... I don't think its worth 50 euros of shipping charges for another replacement.

Yup the sculpt is great, much better pose than the BC. If only it were a little larger though... Am I wrong or does this bust fit inside a Detolf?

The sculpt on this is very good yes, heres a few more of mine that help show it off a bit better.

Nice repaint. The only thing I don't like about the 'ALIENS' is they have no throats. The jaw just kind of opens up to nothing back there.

A friend of mine (also a rabid Aliens fan) came over and fell in love with my Warrior. He doesn't care about the broken tube and wants to buy it from me as is, so I'm thinking of selling it to him and getting another one for myself... Perhaps third time's the charm? What do you guys think? Should I attempt this? I asked my dealer what edition numbers he has in stock, I'm thinking perhaps later ones are more 'nitpick-free', is this true?

P.S. Contrary to most people who casually say 'I'm OCD about XXXX' I have been struggling OCD for the better part of 15 years, I hoped I would get over this minor defect on my Warrior but I end up always looking for it and it ruins the fun.

If you are not happy with it, sell it to him and try again. Either that or fix/get fixed the tube, that is a minor issue compared to others on these.

That's exactly what I'm afraid of: getting something that's worse. It's truly a lottery with these busts.

Also, my dealer informed me that since around this year's SDCC, Sideshow changed its policy and gives 3 months of warranty for items not sold directly through their website. This means that, for example, my dealer, who got the Warriors in stock in December, is now stuck with defective busts (such as the one I sent back with broken teeth) that have been sold in the last couple of months. Go figure!

How long did they have before? That seems like a stupid policy, if I were a dealer I would have to crack open every box from them as soon as they arrive.

Apparently the warranty is effective from the date the reseller receives the products from Sideshow. I don't know what the policy was before, but I can find out. Indeed my dealer is considering dropping Sideshow altogether, especially due to the BC and Warrior QC issues.

Can't say that I blame them, SS should be treating them better.

I'd probably sell it and buy one that you can inspect first ideally, whether it be in person or via detailed pictures from the seller. That said, you won't ever get a perfect one of these unfortunately, the production was a bit of a mess on the Alien LSB line. So maybe lower your hopes a bit. I'm picky to in general, the only way to be completely happy with these things in many cases is to fix and alter certain aspects yourself. Even the best SSC pieces I have, have flaws, it is the nature of how they are produced unfortunately.

Well, I went ahead and ordered another one, will be selling my current one to a friend soon. The seller had 3 in stock left, I asked for the higher numbered one (somehow, #3XX have proven rather unlucky for me!). Will update when it arrives.

To those who own this piece, how is it? Do you think its worth the money, etc? I am contemplating to go into my first LSB, and interested in Alien/Predator. Hoping to get some feedback. Cheers guys

Yes, it is worth the money if you get a good one. It looks better than the chap and pairs well with the Predator bust.
