This is an official promo pic, I don't see how collectors feel deceived saying there is blue in this?

dont jump to the conclusion so fast by looking at the new photo! you need to check carefully with the product spec first,
may be there is also something new about the color!:rotfl

It's desaturated from the original

Black is the hardest to photograph. Yes theres a blue tint to the photo. The reason why the figure looks blue because the photographer used a blue gels over the light to give it the blue tint. I think it's deceiving the buyers and its not right.

It's not a blue dress, gold dress scenario. The specs pics have blue throughout because of the studio, lighting, photography and good old photoshop. Black is hard to photograph and they have to make the product pop. It's overlayed with a blue, the figure is saturated with it. If you have photoshop, get your eye dropper tool and go for points at the armor. It'll come up blue, because it is blue.

Let it be a lesson to READ the specs and description and don't go by the advertisement pictures. Sure, blue is saturated in those pictures, but the description says black. Robocop and this Iron Man figure are the best examples. Anyone that is on edge about this should be thankful that we get these glass display pics that really give you an idea of what you're getting. So far, you have lost nothing and now have an informed idea of what to expect so you can cancel, or keep your order.

The End.

We really need a coffee table book on HT that details their processes from start to finish. How cool would that be?
This is a great idea! Imagine if it also included high-res shots of all the stuff they sell? Now how much would you pay?

how promo pics should look... no blue tint.
I was never so worried about the lack of blue color in recent pics and videos. What concerned me more was how one-dimensionally flat black it looked. However, if it turns out looking like this picture, I will be a very happy camper indeed. This is simply stunning.

See even on the original I saw it as black reflecting something, never thought about the actual product being blue.

Good post, interesting to see that it's a photoshop edit more than lighting etc... your method of proving colouration is the same one as I've seen used to work out what colour uniforms the Ghostbusters are wearing in GB2 (was a blue vs grey debate that time, end result being they were a blue shade which in some lights looks grey... I digress).

Still hoping I convert on this one, I like what I see in some of the tour photos (price is still on the high side but it's my choice I suppose), don't understand why they didn't just use the black shots, they look great in your edits!

For the first time ever, I want one of the IM variants... I've always liked the look of the Stealth armor. When I was a kid my dad and I would make weekend trips to KB Toys to look for action figures... Stealth IM and War Machine were always at the top of the list... I'm considering getting on the waitlist but it's pretty expensive.
