Gotta love how movies work. The studio is to blame for how poorly the film did, and there are countless studios dropping fortunes into absolutely **** movies and yet we still can't get a dredd sequel despite the overwhelming good reviews it got. Instead let's make a Paul blart 2 or Jupiter ascending or anything with Kevin James in it.

That's depressing. I'd love to see another one. It amazes me how many **** movies come out of Hollywood and Dredd can't get another chance.

it really boils my blood Is how even if people buy multiples copies to show interest the studio still doesnt give a f

one thing is to make silly online petitions that no one sees,
but voting with your wallet and they still wont care if it doesnt unless it goes to number one at the box office?

f this... sometimes im glad i gave up going to the theater every weekend

Well that's ****ed then.

I supported it good; saw it in the cinema & bought it.

Quality seems to mean little these days, compared to the almighty graph.

Just glad there was at least one solid DREDD film, with an awesome main cast and great soundtrack.
I was VERY pessimistic when I've watched the first trailer, it's a miracle that my friends dragged me to theater.

all that matters is that stupid opening weekend,

Even Jim Carrey told Howarn Stern that dumb and dumber 2 almost..... ALMOST didnt get made if it wasn't for the begging they had to do to the studio because studios are obsessed with big franchises and super hero bullcrap.
so they are not interested in one off movies anymore unless it leads to a big Marvel-like universe

so when you get stuff like Paul blart or 50 shades of grey being number 1, thats all they see. the potential to make 5 more

Really? You? :lol

I love the soundtrack too BTW.

The studios want to make all their money back and then some in the first weekend and that's it. I'd love to see a television series done on Netflix or something. They could take their time with the stories and get a little deeper into the characters/city and get out into the Cursed Earth for a bit. So much potential.

That would be brilliant.

I was hoping for big things with John Carter too. Maybe the pay TV thing could work for that series as well.

what bothers me is that when they decide to make another one, it will be a different actor and it would just be a reboot

the quality of the movie might be up for discussion but even before it was made, the studio wasn't thinking about how good the script was or how relevant the characters are or anything.

All they seem to care about is franchise building and merchandise selling, Thanks to Marvel's influence in Hollywood now Studios treat movies as Giant 2 hour Commercials for future movies and for toys and merchandise

that's why Spiderman burned to the ground so badly. They were using the second movie as nothing but a 2 hour trailer for upcoming projects and to sell birthday plates and cups,
They couldn't give a s if the movie was good or not, just as long as it got people interested. That's kind of what he was referring to and I see his point. That's why we cant get stuff like Dredd 2, that's why Fox wasn't interested in making Deadpool until the entire internet asked them for it.

I wasn't really looking forward to the movie when I first heard of it because of the stallone flick. The set photos they released didn't do it for me and neither did the trailer. I ended up getting advanced screening passes for it a couple weeks before the main release and me and my friends figured meh, it's a free movie. We were joking about how bad it would probably and saying "I am the law" in stallones drawl to eachother. Well, boy was I wrong, ended up being one of my favourite films and good enough to get urban dredd tattooed on me. Such a shame studios are tools.

fixed.,,,
Yep. SW started it all in the first place.

Really? You? :lol
