I hope they do, maybe in your case they don't want to send one out for what they consider minor issues and overseas is more of an expense for them. Mine has bubbled paint on the front of the head, a crack right in the middle of the front, a large hair in the paint in a very noticeable spot, 2 broken teeth, the same tendon mess you have, and a couple of fingerprints in the paint, plus more minor issues. I will be very upset if they tell me the same thing, I got all the Predator busts in anticipation of having the Aliens to go with them.

Well, looks like they are trying to pull the same crap with me too. I just rechecked my messages and they sent me the same note with a measly $45 offer for a laundry list of problems.

That really sucks dude. Seems like a standard response they're giving to everyone who will have problems with this piece. If you got a flawless one, consider yourself lucky.

I'm seriously disappointed. Before I sent in the request I went over the bust with an LED flash light to make sure I didn't miss anything, and I found even more problems with my bust. Some I can live with, but some I can't as they are in really obvious spots and look bad on display. I've also got the same problem as the other guy with the fitment of the inner mouth...mine doesn't go in all the way. My main issues are all the defects I have on the face though, as they are noticeable. Really not sure what to do, as I really want that name plate. You gonna keep yours or send it back?
 
I feel lucky there were no problems with mine. It's a shame they won't do anything for ones with defects. Kind of weird, too.

I don't know, I wish mine only had one or two issues. I could probably live with everything but the crack and weird bubbled paint for a partial refund, but not much can be done with those problems without a complete strip and repaint. No replacements while the regulars are still in stock is very upsetting. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from Superman PF, I am still waiting on my EX and they are already telling people there are no replacement parts for him either. I have had to send back a few statues just this year due to lack or replacements for damage or total crap QC. None of those I really had to have unlike the Aliens.

I've never ordered an LSB before, but I wonder if that has something to do with it? It's not like a PF where there's a mark on the alternate headsculpt and they can just ship out a small envelope with the piece...with these, they pretty much have to replace the entire piece, which pretty much needs the entire box to make happen.

It should make no difference, and if that is a factor they should actually LOOK at them harder before they slap the QC sticker on the box. They could put out a quality product if they wanted, it must be more profitable to just hope someone takes the pittance of a refund they offer. I am sure many people don't even say anything unless it is really bad anyway. This constant issue of lack of replacements is unnerving going forward though. The more I thought about it today even more issues came to mind this year where they were "out of replacements". Luckily they were not major on the ones I really wanted to keep. I did have to return a few that were not worth the minimal refund offered to keep though. I am really frustrated and it seems like I am not the only one this keeps happening to.
 
Its awful to see this happen. Sideshow used to be the best in the business... And they sure as hell push their products. But when it comes time to take care of customers their lacking. And they definately dont listen. And when they do listen they always come back with reasons why we should be happy to have subpar pieces.the issues with this one piece alone are terrible. Even if it accounts for only 1-2% thats still unacceptable. That means they dont really care since sideshow quality assurance stickers are put on every sent out piece. Their qc dept appears to be run by ray charles and managed by stevie wonder.

How bad is the bubbled paint? Got any pics? Mine has a few spots around the statue where there is debris stuck in the paint. Some of it bothers me, some not. I think just everything combined annoys me enough to put me off this piece and not really enjoy it the way I wanted to. I think the worst for me is the botched tendon. The excess glue is really an eyesore, and what makes it worse is that the top of this plastic piece is very see-through, and you can see the white blob of glue behind it, so when I put the statue on display under LED lights, it makes the white of the glue stand out and it looks terrible. The cast of the tendon overall looks horrible and part of it looks weird and twisted. The other tendon looks great, so it's a shame they don't match. I wonder if anyone else got one like this? Like you, this (along with Big Chap and any other Aliens) is a piece I really wanted, so I'm quite upset I can't get a replacement. Really not sure what to do now. They aren't even offering a partial refund...just credit towards another purchase. Got until 3rd of September to decide before the offer is withdrawn. This has really put me off Sideshow. I've always found their CS to be pretty good until now.

Exactly! These things are not cheap. To know that they produced these things with no spares available for possible replacements when they know they are bound to have a few lemons is ridiculous, and as you said, if they know they aren't going to have spares, they should do a better job inspecting them. I also have a lot of bad luck with these things like you, but Sideshow have always been great with replacements in the past so it's never been an issue for me. Granted, I've only ever collected Hot Toys before getting into Sideshow pieces recently, and pretty much all my Hot Toys came with a few issues but Sideshow were usually always good to replace parts for me.

After reading all your QC issues ... I'm not excited at all now :/ damn!

Hope yours is good mate. It seems like luck of the draw with Sideshow's products these days. You just don't know what you're gonna get, and you better pray you get a good one because there will be no replacements and you'll be SOL.
 
Sent in a request to Sideshow for a replacement yesterday as mine came with a few QC problems, and the best they could offer me is $45 credit towards another purchase or I can return for a refund and then buy a regular, as they don't have any replacements left. How can they have no replacements? This thing just came out! Seriously disappointed, as I really want the name plate, but not sure I can live with the flaws, especially with my OCD. Did anyone else send in a return request and get a similar response?

Seriously? I'm still waiting for a reply, won't be happy if I get the same responce. Why don't they just send regulars out to us and allow us to keep our nameplates and EX boxes, they can just change the numbers their end to match.
 
Received #141 (reg) and I have absolutely no complaints. Paint is beautiful and I can see the different highlights. No apparent flaws. The way people were talking I thought the teeth would be worse. Are they perfect ? No. They are silver instead of chrome, but really don't look all that bad.

Yes, other than the chipped off ones the teeth on mine were acceptable. I already started researching chrome paint but when it arrived I think it is good enough not to mess with.
 
Jeez meng. This was going to be one of the highlights of my collection. However, the weird tendons, incorrect paint on the teeth, abundance of Q.C. issues/ chips etc, and now stiffing people on replacements.... I have to pass on this. It's very disappointing because I really wanted all the aliens.

I'm a completest, so there goes my Big Chap as well. :gah:

Yea, that few days to decide is also getting on my nerves. Why are they only giving you a few days to make up your mind now even if you are supposed to have 30 days?

The bubbling on mine is bad, worst spot looks like a pea is trying to come through the paint and it is very uneven in the whole area, where it should be perfectly smooth. Your eye goes right to it if you can get past the crack on the front edge and 2 teeth that were broken off. I have the same exact issue as yours too with the tendon mess. Plus a many others. Hopefully they come through and are able to find me one or have another batch made for replacements, as you said in the past they have done well so I am still holding out hope.
 
So...You smash your Ex, because of problems and no replacements available, and we're supposed to believe they don't get another piece slap that number on it and sell it to someone on the WL?
SS need to look after their customers. They have always has a great Customer Care reputation but that seems to be slipping along with their Q.C.

Most of us I believe are getting high quality pieces of this. It sucks that some here are not but I don't think I would drop out of this line if you were excited about it to start with.
 
Easy return for you guys if it's not acceptable.

Not so easy, you lose the EX by doing that. They say right in the letter that they would be glad to assist in ordering the regular at the same price. That is just another irritant. Of course I don't want the regular or I would have ORDERED the regular.
