I keep hearing it mentioned that the reason for these price increases is to keep the armored figures' price point lower, when they are released in the future. Has this been confirmed by Sideshow or is it purely conjecture from fellow Freaks?

Nope, just wishful thinking by some. Those armored characters are gonna be pricey, no doubt about it.

I'd believe it if SSC had a "one price fits all" system, but since they don't there is no way to prove a $120 Vader would have cost $125 without the price increase on Luke.

I can't honestly remember the last 12" figure I got from SS. One of the main reasons is the price. I had no problems with $50-55 figs. Even $60 for a highly detailed alien was fine with me. But $70 for a routine figure with a bland outfit is where I draw the line. I am seriously considering ditching all the 12" figs I already have because I refuse to pay this amount for a 12" and won't get more down the road if this is gonna be the new standard price.

Seriously, I'll be all Hot Toys when it comes to 1:6 if that happens.

You can't be serious. :lol
Who will you turn to when they don't explain their prices. Ummm Medicom? :lol
I guess it's back to Hasbro or bust. Maybe you'd be prepared to buy Barbies and be willing to pay more if they gave them more articulation, provided an explanation that met your standards was supplied. :monkey1

Well, I'm out. Unless I can find them more reasonable on ebay down the line, I won't be getting any more SW figures.

Bro, you are a contrarian ****** bag. Here comes your waaaaahmbulance!

70 bucks a pop? I might get another figure or three but I kind of feel like this is the beginning of the end for me collecting these figures. I'll probably check ebay for regular editions under $60 from here on out.

And there it is folks. Its a shame to see someone collecting so long drop a line.

He's not the only one. I'm just going to stick with getting the Medicoms I want (including non-SW) and leave all the other 1/6 lines alone. I just hope something comes up for me to use my points on after Praji clears.

*sarcasm*but for every one that drops, 2 more take their place*/sarcasm*

Yeah, but they aren't the people I've been sharing the hobby with over the net for the last 3,4,5+ years either.

They're my teammates!

Annoyed. I picked the last one, will buy, but will (may) lose interest later if prices keep climbing. I would pay large prices for armored guys, Vader, etc., but not for cloth guys. That can't be a huge cost overrun. Maybe the accessories are making it tougher. I do like the extra hands and all though. And extra lightsabers, etc., but feel maybe the price is more do to cancellations maybe? Or some other unseen factor? Or just keeping up with the Joneses...which makes me think, Indy will be high won't he Sideshow? Like, around $100? I bet.

Anyway, Annoyed, but still buying.

Oh great. Everyone is bailing out. The Sideshow Star Wars line is over. Now we can go back to Sideshow making awesome 1/6 figures like they did pre Star Wars. :banana:banana:banana Oh excuse me. :chew:chew:chew
