I keep saying how Cap 2 looks to have the best superhero action of any cbm.

Spiderman's swinging in this movie looks to be right up there in superhero moments.

I can't get over just how mind blowing spectacular it looks.

Please don't let this movie suck. :lol

It could be good just don't compared this to those terrible Raimi movies .

Great read i agree with alot of that I yet to find a great spiderman film i think all of them are terrible some have there moments.

I like the first Raimi film a hellva lot, and the second film right behind it. I hated SM3, like everyone else. I really thought ASM was very meh.

We are on the same page. Love the first 2 Raimi films... The third was WAY too much for one film to contain and sunk under its own weight. While some of the visuals of ASM were a lot of fun, the characterizations for me were too far away from classic Spider-Man, so I can't say I enjoyed that one. I have a feeling this sequel will leave me with the same feeling. I hope it won't... but all signs are pointing to it so far.

One thing that gets me is how so many fans now have "retroactive hate" for the first two Raimi films. In the zeal to defend ASM, I see many folks tearing them down seemingly in an effort to elevate the new films. I know some folks didn't like the Raimi movies to begin with... and if you still don't, that is fine. But to all of a sudden turn on them since there is a shiny new version around is to me pretty weird.

And you can't tell me there was as much blasting of them as there is now when they first hit. The same thing happened to Burton's Batman films once the Nolan trilogy hit, and to Donner's Superman when Man Of Steel came along... All these folks that seemed to absolutely adore them for years now spoke of how terrible they are in comparison to the new version.

It is just weird man.

I didn't know anybody who hated the raimi movies. How could you hate spiderman 1 and 2? They were great spidey movies at the time and spiderman 2 is still the best spiderman movie

Well anyone I know that hates the Raimi movies, hated them because of Maguire.
And to be honest, I get that. I never hated them, but I never loved them, at the time I wanted a real world Spiderman and I thought the look and tone of them way too theatrical. And I liked Maguire prior to him being Spiderman, also a huge Raimi fan. Maguire did irk me somewhat with his wide, slightly teary eyed faux deepness throughout the entire trilogy. The last one brought this to the fore and he took a lot of the flak for what is just a very poor movie IMO. The second was by far the best and felt more like true Raimi, especially Dr.Oc creation, loved it.

100% agree with this sentiment.

I like all the Spider-Man movies; Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3 (yes), and The Amazing Spider-Man... that's allowed right? It's ok to like Raimi AND Webb? :lol

"Retroactive hate" definitely is the best description of it I've ever seen. Anyone on this hate train only got on it after ASM, but I'm sure over a decade ago when the first film came out they were probably like "MAGUIRE IZ DAH BESTEZ SPIDER EVA!!" And now it's all about Garfield, who's characterization of Spider-Man was highly mediocre to me.

There are all classes of Spidey hate going on in this thread. :lol

People who hate the Raimi pics and always hated them.
People who hate the Raimi pics because they love whatever the latest version is (being TASM and it's sequel).
People who hate TASM because they didn't like it.
People who hate TASM because they loved the Raimi versions.
... And many other variations therein..

C'mon people there is enough room for all kinds of hate in this thread!
:lol
