Re: Resident Evil 6[2014]

'Resident Evil' Finale Doesn't Even Have A Script Yet...

When Paul W.S. Anderson ended the 2012 Resident Evil: Retribution, he left the franchise open for one finale battle at the white house.

The movie was a success, quickly forcing Sony SCreen Gems’ hand to announce Resident Evil 6 for September 12, 2014.

Going into this year, it was clear they weren’t going to make the date, being that there was no word on production even remotely close to starting. With Anderson’s Pompeii hitting theaters, Collider was able to get the latest on the franchise that continues a resurrection.

“We’d like to do another Resident Evil movie. Definitely,” said Anderson. “But the wheels aren’t quite in motion yet.”

The site also states that Anderson hasn’t begun writing the script, but he did tell them awhile ago that he had a story in mind for Resident Evil 6 that involved a lot of death and would bring the franchise to a close. In addition, they caught up with Screen Gems President, Clint Culpepper, at the junket and he made it very clear that another Resident Evil was a priority and he was just waiting on Anderson to move forward.

Personally, this is a franchise I’d like to see rebooted. Screen Gems had originally planned to reboot it until the fourth film was a massive success for them.

*waits for web to start his tittybaby trolling/ranting about films we all know and lovingly accept as being bad*

Re: Resident Evil 6[2014]

With how those movies are you would think Anderson would come up with a script over the weekend.

well but you see this is the last one, but you see this is his end game, but you see thiz haz to be aweswome :hi5:

Re: Resident Evil 6[2014]

These movies are terrible. I'm guilty of watching the first a few times but the rest just turn my brain into diarrhea.

The first few games were about surviving a relatively slow paced nightmare with few bullets and lots of threats. They don't make you feel like too much of a badass. Which is why I still love and play em today. I hope to see at least one RE movie that's like a hardcore horror movie. Low on action, heavy on story and atmosphere.

Capcom will Never let this happen. And we are lucky the first movie was as scary and as tense as it was. very lucky indeed.
But we will never see a true horror RE movie, they wouldn't allow it

Re: Resident Evil 6[2014]

I don't think that's a stance, I think the movies weren't based off the games much because they chose not to. It was successful enough and they just went with it.

They were pretty firm on the films not being based off the games. Now that this franchise is over, I think we're far enough removed from RE1 that a film centered around STARS at the mansion would be welcome. :D

Re: Resident Evil 6[2014]

So, this is the final for this series? About time, I can finally plan on getting the Anderson Untimate 6 movie box set version of this I've been waiting for. :yess:

Now see THAT.. is what I'd love to see going forward.

Not that I'm a huge gamer anymore, but two of my all time fave games are RE1 & 2 on the original PS1.

Played them through multiple times. :rock

Re: Resident Evil 6[2014]

I think the problem with the reboot being all about the team going into the mansion is that by now, kids don't even know anything about the first RE. that's like a relic.
They would probably acknowledge the first game but it would probably be a full action movie now. Specially since being action movies now is making so much money for them. It would kind of be going backwards money wise.

I wouldn't be surprised if the reboot ends up being more like "Transformers" in style :lol

Horror movies make a ton of money, with a smaller budget they could cut out a lot of CG work and go the horror route and still be profitable.

Re: Resident Evil 6[2014]

So I bought the blu-ray box set (1-4) in 2012 since Amazon had a good deal going on, received it, slapped myself :slap, never took it out of the cellophane, sold it a month later. :cuckoo: :lol

I mean, they were fine but not something I need in my library that I would watch again. But who am I to judge since I liked Underworld. But then again, Kate was involved with those. :drool
