Wow incredible how did you come by this inside information?

You know what how's about you come do my job and I will sit at my keyboard all day and do yours.

Now that's snarky!

Not related, but do you guys have any left over 10th Doctor's damaged screwdrivers? If so, would it be possible to get such a piece? Need one to make my 11th Doctor "complete"

I don't particularly appreciate when companies come on here to attack us for speculating about when they will finally release items (While not offering any help or new information.) Maybe I'm just an ingrate....

At least we gave dates. :hi5:

I know there's resistance on here to BC announcing anything new while there's still a backlog of stuff waiting to be made/ shipped, but there will never be a better time for a Patrick Troughton figure to be made, if the missing episodes rumour turns out to be true.

Even the websites of national newspapers have already been carrying his photo and if there is a large haul of returned episodes his name recognition will vastly increase. Also, fans will be more open to buying his figure as a way of being part of the excitement (which I'm guessing is why CO are planning a fur coat Troughton figure as a TRU exclusive).

Personally, I can't pre-order another figure and pay a deposit to BC until they deliver 10 and 4. But I would love to see what their 2 would look like.

I love this figure but a couple of custom questions. Has anyone panted the head and has anyone swapped bodies? Just curious. Thanks in advance.

Thought I'd post these here as it seems to be the default 11 thread now, as I'm not sure I ever did. As you can see, I managed to get one with no realy gray paint issues, thankfully:

Mine looks about the same as yours. Great figure. Congrats! :hi5:

I have no issues with 11. I think its a great likeness. I don't know how these things stand the test of time though. Look at the Roger Moore Moonraker and Spock from TMP figures. Those guys are serious Walking Dead material !!

Yeah, totally agree. Never worry about the future with action figures (one reason why you should always open them). Have fun with them now.

I'm not familiar with those figures - what's wrong with 'em?

Frankly I wasn't worried about how well they would hold up because I didn't think it would be an issue! That would be depressing if they have a short lifespan.

The point was brought up not in regards to the figures decaying or anything, just how quickly technology moves in making more accurate and life-like figures.

Ah. I assumed decay/deterioration given the WD reference.

Uh, no I'm sure he was talking about the decaying of the figures. Hence the Walking Dead mention. :)

Not sure about the Moonraker figure, but the TMP 12'' figures were made by Mego, who had issues with faces going gray over time due to deterioration in that scale. I'd like to think plastics have moved on enough so that won't happen here, but it's always a risk.

Walking Dead mention could mean they look so old and dated paint-wise that they look dead, or it could mean they're literally falling apart.

We might never know.

DVD1 needs to come back and explain what he meant, his throwaway remark looks like it might result in pages of analysis.

Like... did he mean the vintage Moonraker figure or Sideshow's?

I was referring to the way those figures from the 70s went from being pretty cool, to grey remnants of their former selves. Hence the Walking Dead reference. Speaking of which, I have still to watch the one from last night.

Yeah, I really liked that Spock, so I'm hoping my new one won't go that way.

Back to 11, and I think my 11 looks great and, if, in 20 years or so, he fades away, then I probably won't care as it'll have been replaced by something even better in a decade or so. Just as the CO 10 ( which I thought was cool 8 years ago) is relegated to a cupboard as he's been replaced by the incoming supa dupa BC 10. Let's face it, we don't expect our cars to last forever. They get older, new tech comes along, newer models, nicer models, so the old ones get replaced with the newer sleeker, more interesting new models. ( can we apply this analogy to women ?) .

So yeah, unbox and enjoy for the now. Just not too much... Haha.

Resisting the temptation to respond to your analogy about women - mine gets MILFier every day - damn, couldn't resist the temptation - I wonder if CO classic 5" will go that way. A lot of them are pretty much perfect (unlike Dapol) and they've worked hard to make the line so large. Can't see them being replaced for many, many years.

I can't see another line of 5" Who figures ever being made, and I still think CO made a huge mistake in moving to 3 3/4". I haven't bought any, yet I bought everything in the previous line. I didn't get the Doctor / DALEK combo sets that TRU are doing, as I felt that was a complete cheat for the 50th. Really expected something new. Mind you it's been like a year since they advertised their Daemons and Axons. Still no shows.
All my COs are in packs. Reason, I like to display them on the wall ( they take up a lotta wall space ). I have a whole bunch of loose doubles that I play, I mean display in the TARDIS console rooms. I also opened one of my 11 Doctors sets and have the appropriate Doctor standing by his section of DVDs in the Who DVD unit. None of these figures show any sign of aging. The earliest of these figures came out in 2005-2006, so they are not far from being a decade old.
In fairness to BC, I think theirs will be much loved figures for a long time to time, outliving the replaced cars, houses and women ! Hahaha!
