What better way to celebrate the start of the brand new season of Doctor Who with a look at the first high-end 1/6th figure of the character? Big Chief are a new British company with some big plans in bringing us some of the key players from the series. And with recent unveilings of prototypes for the 4th and 10th incarnations of the Doc, this could be a dream come true for many Whovians out there!

Great photos wookster, and I'm looking to reading the review later when I have time. I just got this myself an hour ago and have already recanted my opinion that it was a little too pricey - it is superb.

i have one question though - is there any chance you could take a few close up shots of the face in natural light, by a window? I'd be really grateful as I can't decide whether the dark cheekbones are a painting error or meant to be like that, and would really appreciate a look at someone else's figure - yours is starting to make me think they are meant to be like that, but I'm still not sure. Sorry to ask, and no worries if you don't have time.

I'll do my best, but after my commute home its already getting dusky/dark these days. Some of the paler shots above were taken in dim daylight in a photo booth I set up on the potting table... like this one.

If that helps? These ones were indoors with electric light-

Nice photos, but I'm curious about the signature plaque, mine is 049 of 250, but yours says AP17 could that mean artist's proof edition if it is well done for getting it.

Yeah, apparently its one of 20 sent out for promotional and review purposes. I'm guessing Matt got 11.

Thanks for your reply wookster, I'm kind of undecided about whether mine needs to go back or not - everything else is perfect, especially the eyework (how come it looks so much better in hand than in pics?), everything (so a sleeve button fell off, big deal!). I think I'm going to live with it for a few days and see, but I'm leaning towards not trying to exchange it (in case I get one with better skin tone and wonky eyes!).

Cheers, and sorry CB I was back too late again tonight, prob be that way most of the week.

Great pics Jeff! It seems unfair that I am prolly the one who wanted this the most here and I am still waiting for mine. :lol

No worries Wookster. I'll have to try out this Face Book thing you youngsters go on about...

Sadly my whippersnapper days are far behind me. It canbe a useful tool for sharing info and large batches of pics... Plus most of the big 1/6th players reveal new sneak peeks there a swell.

We've all been thereatone time or another... But great things come to those who wait!

Bloody hell Wooks...you get up early!:horror

Wookster,
Does the head look like it'll be easy to remove from the body?

It's not so much for this figure, I'm just thinking ahead to when Tom is released as I have some of custom sculpts I'd like to swap onto a couple of the extras I'm planning to get.

I didn't try to take the head off, if I get a chance I will tonight. But the fact they have other heads in the expansion packs planned would leave me to believe it should be OK.

Thanks for replying, it seems likely enough with the other heads that are coming that the head will be easy to remove, I just wondered whether you'd had a go whilst doing the review.
