well that annoying little tab at the bottom of the faceplate is there...

that's...well...annoying

still doesn't change my opinion on this figure, it is extremely sexy

Beautiful.
I think the only way an Iron Man collector *wouldn't* be mega excited at this release is if they don't have one on order yet and are trying to justify not being able to get one.
These pics are blowing me away.
Can't wait to get mine in hand!

Damn that box is sexy!!!

Can't wait to get this! :yess:

So damn sexy. Really glad that all the "THEY CHANGED IT ON US" arguments are over about the battle damage.

I'm loving that they added the broken clips on the lid!
Loads of people complained about that not being on the proto.

:clap:clap

I really love the box art. Black background with the red Iron Man is sweet. It looks pretty damn great to me.

Really looking forward to this.

This figure is sure looking nice. Congrats on everyone getting it. Except you flippers. :pfft:

Missed the two Mark VII's myself. Luckily I can always fall back on those rubber elbows I truly despise. Everytime I get a craving I look at a close up pic of them, then look at my Mark VI. What was HT thinking?
Ah well, nevermind me I live in my own little world where the Mark VI is Tony's ultimate suit and IM3 never happened.

It's looking nice. The only real issue I have with it is that it doesn't look very metallic anymore. Those black washes and BD have killed the red metallic paintjob and made it look quite plasticy.
The proto and the real/CG suit looked a lot more metallic. Could have done with more silver through the black. I like the clean version a lot (apart from the faceplate which will be replaced by Holo's!) still not sure if I want to pick this up or not.

I have to try to get this figure.

Dreading the Secondary Market figure prices. Right now it's 800 USD on eBay. I'm hoping it goes down a little once all the US buyers get theirs.

Whilst I do like you Barry and respect your opinion, I think it's unfair to assume that anyone who has an opinion that differs to yours on this figure is only bitter because they didn't get it

I myself didn't manage to get one, but that shouldn't invalidate my opinion

It could be said that the figure isn't quite like the proto and those who have purchased it are trying to justify having one on order

I'm not saying that is the case, it's just that it goes both ways and someone may genuinely have negative thought's on this piece now

I imagine a civil response from you on this (if any).

There are some, however, who I do not expect that from.

Unfortunately

I agree just on the general opinion. I actually DO have this on order on order with SS but I feel hat HT did drop the ball on paint job. Like Rory mentioned too, the metallic seems gone and the BD is not as well done, as expected from a factory paint. I'm stoked to get it, but it's not as great as it first looked IMHO.

Yeah, i didn't mean to offend.

Repaints are often a hot potato.
With this on order(If you are as lucky as i), there are probably a few different camps you would fall into, including, but not limited to(Because we are all different, so there are likely as many different stances as there are people with one on order):

1) Like it and definitely still want it.

2) Like it, but based on the differences between proto pics and final product, feel a bit let down. Will still keep it.

3) Don't like it, and are hoping it looks better in hand. Might sell when it arrives.

4) Hate it. Can't justify the cost, but know what it's going to be like on the secondary market, so will instantly flip for a product you want more.

Like i say, not everyone will fall exactly into those categories, but i am just generalising.

With Iron Man, it's not just a love it or hate it licence. I've always loved it, but during the summer got a PPI windfall that enabled me to buy all the Avengers and all the IM figures. Normally, i would be *loving these things from afar* by enjoying everyone else's collections.

Personally, i fell it's very different from the proto, but still enough like i was promised that i honestly don't mind the differences.
I have two coming, and feel they are well worth the cost.

But i also appreciate hearing other's opinions, and am very well aware not everyone is as happy with this one as i am.
It's a lot of money considering the differences that have only just surfaced with a "Bang! It's different! This is the final version! Get used to it!" type of mentality from HT.

I'd say that anyone who doesn't want it after seeing the final has three choices:

*fix* the paintwork by adding what is perceived to be lost during the mass production. Add more soot and metal scores. Or:

Sell the BDMKII and use the cash generated to pick up a clean MKVII and repaint it yourself(Or get someone else to do it if you know someone better at painting), or:

Give up on the BD MKVII and flip it for a bit of profit.

There're really no losers in this in my opinion(I understand YMMV), as anyone who has one on order can sell it for at least half as much again as they paid for it. Maybe even more.
These things are very subjective anyway.
Just one man's opinion.
And sorry if i offended anyone with my opinion in my previous posts about it.

:yess:.. I am loving the look of this figure, and am even more excited than ever to be getting mine in Oct.
As far as opinions go, everyone has one. I enjoy constructive opinion and debate, but as far as this figure goes, I am blinded by the fact that this just looks amazing.

I can't say anything negative about it. When folks say that it looks a little off from the proto pics and other nit picking things, I just don't agree and or see how any of that really fricken matters.

Proto pics are always touched up, and never give true perspective of natural figure asthetics, and or colors. Hell even regular pics never give true look of figures.

This is hands down the best looking RDJ sculpt HT has ever put out IMHO. Hell they even gave us blood and sweat effects on the skin...WOW!!:clap.

Either way you look at it, and weather or not you are an IM fan or not, this is a great piece and an excellent exclusive.

I have the regular Mark7, and even if this is a repaint with a nice base, and an RDJ headsculpt, as some folks are saying, to simplify it, I for one am very happy I will be adding this to my collection.:clap:clap

I have one on order and am still not sure whether to keep it. Im not much of a flipper and feel that buying a toy just to sell it again to a fan at outrageous prices just cause I can is wrong. But that's just me. If I do go through with it and buy it and still don't like I'd either trade it for something else I want, or sell it at cost. I did so with the Hot toys Catwoman. Bought it and sold it at cost.

Just put it on ebay and see what you get. Start it at what you paid for it and see how high it goes.
There's nothing wrong with buying something for $5 and selling it for $10.
That's what business is all about.
Don't let anyone tell you that making a profit is wrong.

I have a bad feeling that bd headsciulpt will command $200+

Who knows, but I wouldn't be surprised.
It looks better then any that has been released so far. I for one am glad they changed the look on the RDJ HS from the proto pics, as the proto pics looked good, but still didn't look like RDJ.
This one does for sure though IMO.

I can guarantee you that there will be lots of folks trying to make KO's of it.

This is a rare situation where I am actually happier with the sculpt revisions, then with the look of the proto version. Again, this is just my opinion.

One thing I will point out in my review of these pics is that this RDJ HS looks like the same one they are using on the proto display pieces for the Mark42.

I have a feeling it will not be that cheap...

There are only three exclusive items. The body, base and ts helmet sculpt. The base will probally fetch $250~300, body $300~~400 and sculpts $250~300. Now lets see if one even gets parted out
