Well its basically the size of a 1:4 scale human figure so all things considered it was always going to end up in that price range anyway.

The funny things is Neca sells the Ironman 1/4 Mark VII with light feature for $84.00 and HT sells this figure for a whole lot more. It's just curious, don't you think?

Yeah and NECA iron man also has better articulation than HT hulk.

HT should be ashamed for selling this for nearly $300 when he doesn't even come with a STAND or anything else like really hot toys? There's not even really any "actor likeness" since it's based on a CG character

The CG character was based on Ruffalo's face. The teeth in particular are obvious. So in a roundabout way there IS an actor likeness.

In light of the pricing on their figures generally Hulk was no more expensive than would be expected. Not saying its a good thing mind you. Obviously I'd rather be paying less.

What I find curious is the fact that you think NECA figures are anywhere near the quality of Hot Toys figures.
Simply looking at what a NECA 1/4 scale and Hot Toys 1/6 scale Iron Man Mark VII look like and what they have, it is really quite easy to justify the pricing difference.

While I do agree the Hulk seems pricey for what you get, the knowledge that the figure will increase in value makes it well worth it.

TBQH, I have waited so long for a high quality Hulk in a scale like this, I am happy I have the opportunity to finally get one.

3 sentences, 3 fails. Nice going!

The question is: If Neca can build a 1/4 figure of IM and sell it for a profit for $84.00? How much does it cost HT to build a 1:6 figure that sell for almost twice the price. At the end of the day most people put these figures on a shelf and look at them.(and there's nothing wrong with that) Wouldn't it be nice to do that same thing for half the price. I'm just sayin....

That comparison doesn't work with most other products, so why should toys be any different?

My Honda Civic gets me from A to B the same as that M3 Beamer... why the price difference?

Those generic Lego blocks are almost exactly like the official Lego blocks... why the price difference?

Etc etc.

You have to remember that Hot Toys figures have things like actor likenesses and actual clothing. They have to pay the cut&sew people, the sculptors etc. That drives the price up.

Blow up a Hasbro Iron Man and you have the Neca 1/4 version. Improved detail, but basically the same. However I speak from seeing only pictures and videos, I've never had them in hand. The Neca 1/4 Captain America looks like a really big 3 3/4 figure.

Bimmer...not Beamer. :lecture

Beemer or Beamer is how you spell it if you are referring to BMW Motorcycles.

As someone who rebuilt their first Bimmer at 15, and has always been a BMW enthusiast, I just had to say something. :lol :peace

My original comparison was with the HT Hulk and the Neca IM. Not comparing all Neca against HT figures. (But Neca IM to HT IM works too)

These two figures (Neca IM & HT Hulk) are about the same size and the Neca IM is way more complex than the HT Hulk yet the Neca IM is cheaper in price by far. Why? Is this not a reasonable question?

Paint work, sculpting, QC (this is sketchy, as both have their own issues, though I doubt when Hulk starts to arrive it'll be as bad as NECA IM was), and the fact that in fact NECA IM isn't more complex. An articulated rubber body is somewhat more complicated than a hunk of plastic with basic lights. Comparing these two lines is just idiotic. And no, comparing HT IM to NECA IM is even more asinine than doing it with Hulk.
